You should try being more accommodating to people wanting to come take away your #### from your house. It’s landed me tons of free time.

I’m a bit disappointed this response doesn’t have a bunch of likes. Do people not understand Grade A humour?

I've had the exact opposite experience. I have sold almost all my vehicles on Autotrader and stopped advertising them on Kijiji because you just get too many tire kickers that can't afford your vehicle.

Anything older than 25 years is eligible to be registered as an "antique" in Alberta...

Holy cow! I didn’t know that. Now I am just imagining somebody with a 1994 Ford Tempo rocking some collector plates.

Ha, my Civic will be an antique in three years. I’ll have to check the advantage other than a special plate.

I believe the antique plate is only to drive to shows and such. Lots of people use it more than that, but if anything happens you might not be covered/.

In BC they have a distinction between "collector" vehicles and "vintage" vehicles - vintage basically being their version of "antique", i.e. not driven on weekends but only to events and car shows, whereas to get a "collector" plate and lower insurance premium it just needs to not be your only / main vehicle. Not sure if they have "collector" here.

Let's Talk About Kijiji
Yeah, it sounds like BC has a few restrictions on the condition of the vehicle as well for collector’s plates besides just age, according to ICBC.
Quote:
Collectible condition
A vehicle with any damage — regardless of vehicle age — does not meet the collectible condition.
Vehicle must be fully assembled with no missing parts and be in exceedingly good condition.
Vehicle exterior must not have any dents, paint blemishes, bubbling, chips, rust, or visible primer. Body repairs to the vehicle must be completed according to professional practices and standards.
Engine and engine compartment must be stock for the model year of the vehicle without any performance enhancements. Engine and engine compartment must be clean and detailed with no damaged, deteriorated or rusted parts.
Vehicle interior must be in excellent original or restored condition with no tears, stains, or significant wear. Minor restoration to the original upholstery are acceptable.
Upholstery conditions also apply to motorcycle seats.
Vehicle exterior, interior and engine must be clean and detailed.

I did see a Tempo in the parking lot at the grocery store last week.
I didnt look to see if had collector plates.
I did think about waiting to see who came out to drive it away, but didnt. If it had been a Topaz I probably would have.
