Good luck Canucks, they're gonna get annihilated. Their guys can not handle Ferland and Bollig. Even if Engelland is out the Canucks are screwed, they picked a fight with a team that's tougher and faster. I can't wait to see Ferland rock somebody's world tomorrow. #### the Canucks, #### em all. Long live Ferland.

And if we behave like that, the Canucks will eliminate us in five.
Focus on the game.

If Englelland gets suspended and there's nothing for Hanhuis who was clearly the 3rd man in... but the league has proven time and time again they are biased toward certain teams and certain decisions seem to work toward specific outcomes so I won't be too surprised. #Behindcloseddoors.

As a Vancouverite living in Calgary i might be biased but this is my take on first 2 games.
1. Jonny Hockey despite a poor first 2 games offensively,he has impressed me hugely with his defensive play so far, have not seen him miss a back check. He could easily be a better player overall than P. Kane in a few years.
2. The slower, and scrappier the game is, the better chance Calgary has. As they can't compete skill wise with the Canucks in a end to end open game.
3. Ferland is a POS in the best possible way, The flames will need players like him to contend in a few years. Wish he was a Canuck
4. Horvat is going to be a great player, he already is playing shutdown minutes against the Flames best players, and contributing offensively
I can't see the Canucks not winning this series, especially as the Flames top 3 D men tire, and your top 2 centres are hurt.
Overall regardless Calgary wins. As the Flames youngsters will gain valuable experience in a year they were expected to be playing golf by now. Whereas the Canucks veterans will get blasted by who ever they meet in the next round.

Calgary wins by scoring more goals. PIMs don't show on the scoreboard.
No problem with the rough stuff, but it's a means to an end, not the end

From what I got during the game was Bollig didn't get a 10
originally. Hartley then tried to put him right back out, but refs figured that would be trouble so just gave him a 10 so he wouldn't try and start more stuff. That is just what I thought and I'm probably totally wrong.

That makes a lot of sense and is a smart move... a smart move in an otherwise brutally reffed game though IMO.
I thought outside of the Richardson stuff with Stajan (which isn't that big of a deal IMO) both teams played a really entertaining and hard fought game. A bit chippy but nothing too bad (yet). I hate the Canucks as a rival, but I'm glad we're playing them as well... great for us fans.

Yeah that's what I think happened too. His misconduct shows up at the same time (18:43) on the clock as everything else, but they gave him the penalty before the clock started again, so that makes sense.
If he had been penalized in the big melee, he wouldn't have been sitting on the bench, and Hartley wouldn't have put him on the ice. They wouldn't have just pretended he didn't get a penalty.

Good good... one thing that sure has come out of this, especially for a young team like ours - finish your hits, crash the net, but don't do anything stupid. I think if Ferland, Engelland et al have really got under their skin, so they have to keep playing their human wrecking ball game and Bollig keep crashing the net, but be stay within the rules and don't take any dumb penalties.

If Engelland's instigator is in fact rescinded, the only thing left for the league to do is talk to those officials and make sure they're moved to a different series. Complete joke.

I agree with a lot of this. Horvat has really impressed me as much as I hate to admit it, and Ferland is really growing into what we hoped and need him to become. I would hate him too if he was a Canuck.
The series is far from over though. I'm actually not sure who I favor as the series grinds on. On one hand, I think Calgary has the best conditioning, but Vancouver seems intent on rolling 4 lines, and spreading out the minutes. We can't afford to let the game get out of hand in the first 10 minutes, allowing the Canucks to roll all 4 lines. We need to force them to play intense hockey the entire game. The more we can force them to play their top guys, and then grind them out, the better. We need our top line to start getting things done. I think they'll show up now on home ice.
This series is already thrilling at least for me, and has the potential to be monstrous, especially if we split the next two games. I love the playoffs, and ever more so I love these games against Vancouver. It would feel SO good to beat them.
