Maybe he's just being thorough with the interview process.

I never said he was untouchable. I just don't want to see him or another prospect or pick traded for a "win now" player. I'm not saying thats what is going to happen, Im just saying this move scares me cause it seems like something that could potentially signal that the mindset is shifting.
For all we know this might not have anything to do with the hockey operations. (you never know)

Yeah not sure about the lol on that one either. Did the poster not realize he went the college route? Or that 400+ goals and nearly 1000 points in under a 1000 games is somehow laughable?

1000 points in 100 games is impressive indeed

Well, that and the fact he came out explicitly and said "I'm not a patient person, and I will never be a patient person."

Burke said that whoever he hires as GM will pick his own AGM. So much like coaches and assistant coaches, he must believe that the GM and AGM are a package deal and the boss gets to pick his assistant.

My guess is the poster is young and doesn't know how good kariya was, especially during a clutch and hold era.

Okay. Realistically, what is Burke likely to do? He's going to throw away prospects for a big name player.
Is it going to be worth it? Probably not. He won't be able to get an A+ player, so he will settle with a borderline B+/A- player. This player will come over and perform as a B+ player at best.

Feaster and company had a good 2013 draft but his trading was nothing to brag about.
I think the 2013 draft picks should be safe.
I feel that Sven, Backlund and even some of the prospects from the Iginla/Bouwmeester deals will be in play.
Even Johnny Hockey, i think Burke will definitely get to the bottom of are you going to join the Flames or not. If Johnny balks even the slightest he is dealt. In spite of his its time to surround Johnny with beef comment.
Jankowski could get dealt as well.

What if he got someone like Kessel? Just asking for comparisons sake.
