Kelly Olynyk picked by Dallas, then flipped to Boston for the 16th pick and for two future second rounds picks.

Good to see that having scum bags represent you and skipping out on workouts helped Nerlens Noel get that top pick. If half the stories about the way he has acted since the NCAA season was over are true I hope he has a very short and non-lucrative career.

Judging by his reaction to not getting drafted #1, I can believe some of the stories. You're automatically getting drafted in the top 5 and you're pouting over not being 1st overall? Give me a break. Washington is really screwing themselves, first with Bynum, and second by trading for this kid.

I really like Jrue Holiday, surprised the Sixers gave up on him so fast, but obviously they too are all in for Andrew Wiggins next year.

Watching Dennis Schröder on YouTube he reminds me of Tony Parker. Could very well end up being the best international prospect in the draft.

I gotta say David Stern's trolling tonight is maybe the highlight of his career. He's gotta be drunk but he's killing it, makes me kinda sorta think I'll miss him. He should replace Vince McMahon as the guy in charge of the WWE.

Of Course the Spurs shy away from taking an American player. In time Livio Jean-Charles more then likely will become an impact player for them.

Whoa, Pierce, Garnett, Terry all traded to the Nets for 3 1st's (2014, 2016, 2018), Gerald Wallace, Reggie Evans, Tornike Shengelia, Keith Bogans, and Kris Humphries' expiring contract.

Had the Nets' win now gut roster strategy ever worked in the NBA or pro sports in general? I can't think of one example off the top of my head.

Hope those firsts are lottery protected, no chance the team is still competing in 2016 or 2018 when those guys are all retirees

Myck Kabongo goes undrafted. At this point last year he would have been a top 10 pick.

I'm a huge KG fan and wish that he could have retired a Celtic.

Simmons is right, Rivers did quit on the Celtics.
The discussion was that when he signed the contract he said he would stay for the inevitable rebuild. Second the rebuild started he bailed.
Not sure what you expect when you put a biased fan on national tv.

Great day for Canadian basketball today, couldn't be more pumped. Too bad Olynyk got flipped to the sinking celtics. The thing that I like about Bill Simmons (and I guess jalen rose as well, they both write for the ESPN spinoff site grantland.com which is a great sports site btw) is that he makes no secret of his bias towards Boston. It's nice because most talking heads in sports are biased towards some player, team, or geographic area but don't have the stones to be straight up about it. Simmons with Boston and Rose with the U of Michigan make no bones about where their loyalties are, they're sports fans just like us.

Probably not but what else are the Nets going to do? I don't think the stay mediocre and miss out on drafting top players strategy ever worked out either.
If the picks are lottery protected then it isn't a bad deal at all because they are giving nothing up.
Where they really screwed up was giving up the pick for Wallace and then making it worse by signing him to that stupid contract.

Olynyk looks like a hockey player from Regina, not a basketball player from Toronto/Kamloops.

Rondo signed a hometown discount contract that pays him only $10M. He's highly tradable.
