I really hope they let Max go as long as possible. They have a little bit of room. His pitch count max should be 100 as long as he's effective leading to that. Only 47 pitches so far. He's doing as well as could be expected.

Scherzer is getting better with every inning - he's feeling it!

Best case scenario is that he can finish this and next inning without having to face the top of the order again.
He won't be facing them a 3rd time

I need 5 more runs from the Jays before I feel somewhat safe in thinking the Blue JAys will win.

This is where I think some fatigue might come into play. Raleigh has had to catch a lot of innings, and many in high stress situations.

Crikey Max is looking better the longer he goes.
Unreal performance so far.

Keep Scherzer in until the wheels fall off. He's feeling it after so much time off, just like I thought he would.

It's already more than we could have hoped for, and he's getting stronger as he goes

This is where they need to throw the rule book out. If he get into trouble you replace him but he should be given an opportunity to knock it out. His slider when located today, is sick.

As a dude around Max's age, it really makes me smile to see him battling out there, all die hard Blue Jays fan stuff aside.

I agree with you 100%, but I doubt Schneider does.

Too easy for Brash there - they need to make him throw some pitches

To me if Max gets into trouble you bring in a closer, get out of that situation, then after that you bring in Bassitt for the rest of the game. Gotta save your relievers from being looked at.

I think Scherzer gets a chance to face the top of the lineup again if he gets there, but Schneider will be on the top step from there on out. (as if he isn't already) --- so I predict 6.
