I don’t know what those guys are calling. I don’t see this is anywhere near over and the gaps are pretty big with 88% counted.

I think the NY Times needle is a bit optimistic. They have over 200K estimated votes outstanding from DeKalb at 80% Democrat, but I believe there are actually only 131K votes not counted. That alone would be a 40K vote swing towards Republicans vs. what they're predicting.

Yeah if that 131k is accurate, then it’s grim for the Democrats.

Where are people getting the 131 number?

I wish there was a site like https://alex.github.io/nyt-2020-elec...e-changes.html was for the Presidential election. Maybe there is and I just don't know about it?

A CNN reporter claimed he spoke directly to the people at DeKalb and they said 131K left. I wouldn't put it past CNN to be wrong though.

I think the confusion is that at one point we were told 171K left to count, and a big dump of votes incoming, and now we're at 130K left to count, so there should be about a 40K dump in addition to the 130K remaining to count. But yeah, if it's only 130K left, that's grim.

Everyone keeps talking about Joe Manchin's power in the new Senate, but if I'm the Democrats, I give him the "F around and find out" talk if he doesn't fall in line on the big ticket items. If the establishment and progressive wing both team up to primary him, he's boned.

the 131k left in Dekalb is the amount of in-person early voting. There are more votes than that.

Not sure why CNN doesn't restate that.

Looks like CNN might've been wrong:

I’m still treating this as a 2020 extension. It will be on brand and so US world burning, eating its own, that this ends in a split.

There's actually a possibility that DeKalb all comes in tonight (or a lot of it) to give the Dems the lead and then some of the rural counties come in overnight and flip it back to the Republicans.
