If the Republican party was to choose to move on from Trump and his MAGA followers, the likes of MTG, Lake and Boebert would become a non factor in the party.

Its the risk you run when we get so whipped up in hatred of the 'other' party that you can't bring yourself to switch sides when your 'usual' party goes off the rails. You can see it in the Alberta politics thread with a few posters. They know the UCP under Smith is long gone, but they can't get themselves to vote for the NDP because they've spent 20 years (or whatever) considering the NDP to be the devil.
Political parties evolve and voters should always be open to moving to whichever side meets your values more.

Special counsel Jack Smith subpoenaed Brad Raffensperger to testify to a grand jury.. presumably over the "Find 11,780 votes" call to Raffensperger.
I guess Smith isn't only investigating the doc theft and Jan 6, though I guess it could be related to Jan 6 (maybe to show intent).

It really is astounding. Scott Perry was texting Meadows to get Trump to call the Italian PM to arrest the people responsible for Italian satellites magically flipping votes from Trump to Biden. I guess proof that some people did believe the nonsense rather than just pretending to for the support.

Highly skeptical that's it since he wouldn't have the votes would he? The MAGA wing would vote for him but would the moderate Republicans or the R's in blue areas vote for him? R's have a razor thin margin and Dems would LOVE to vote in their own speaker if R's can't get a majority.
And if he can't know he's winning he wouldn't even try.
The other option is he's launching the MAGA party. Which again I don't think he'd do because he's got to know all he'd do is split the votes on the right and end up giving Dems more wins.
But who knows.
Or maybe he's just re-launching his candidacy again lol.

I imagine it will just be something incoherent and dumb.
Speaker seems far fetched, even for him.
Running as an independent could be plausible. If he announced it now, he could dare the Republican party not to run anyone for president.
Has anyone gamed out what a Desantis/Trump/Biden 3 way election would look like? Is is really an auto-win for Biden, or is there a possibility of no one reaching 270 EC votes and pure chaos would ensue?

it's pretty much an auto-win for Biden because Trump would only steal Republican votes. It's not like Biden would lose any voters to him, so he could cruise to victory while DeSantis and Trump would have to share the usual GOP votes.

I don't think he can return to twitter, or at least not normally, he has some contract with Truth Social that would limit him.. though of course ignoring such things is what he does all the time.
Running mate seems too early. But Kari Lake's lawsuit in AZ seems like a bunch of nonsense so she might have an empty schedule very soon and MAGA seems to want her so maybe.
