They need to keep Hitch all season, so GG gets a nice clean run to ruin the 2019/2020 season.

One win and the "still in the conversation in february"-banner will be raised at Rogers, which makes the possibilty of them pulling some incredibly stupid trade dealine move so much greater. It's time to buy at the trade deadline!

Not sure if it's been said altready but "Groundhog day" would be a fitting title for the next thread.

Isn't this still the second best season they have had in the last 10 years? That is the stat of all stats that really shows how NO GOOD the Oilers are.

Thanks to how ####ed up the west is this year, this is a really tough spot for a Flames fan to be in. The last thing I want is for the Oilers to get another first overall, or even top five pick. And yet, while they are very much in danger of doing just that, we still need to hope for them to lose, because they are only three points out, with a game in hand.
So, all things considered, last night went about as perfectly as one can hope.

The Oilers don't have one single winger that would crack the Flames lineup. Not even the 4th line.

Draisaitl could take over 3LW.

Wow. The Oilers should change their mascot to a groundhog. He saw the jersey. 8 more weeks of hockey.

His statement also implies that he at some occasion (or several) sifted through management groups around the league to determine how many had as many or more cup to their name than him, just to put that one in his holster. You have to be some kind of full of yourself.

So will Katz ever realized the OBC is ruining his franchise, and go full flush? Or does he just like the '80's so much that no matter how bad it gets, they all stay on?

I hope McDavid finishes his career there. It's great symbolism for how terrible this franchise is. Keep telling us how he's the best player in the world, it's delicious.
I can't find the video rn, but after his video about how great the Oilers are going to be (wasn't it this offseason too?), his comments about how everything is in the room, etc... he's just as much a part of the problem as everyone else.
Listening to Nuge last night was funny too. No one saw the 3rd coming apparently (not what you want to hear), but he was trying to downplay it as only 10 mins getting away from them. 10 mins is a really long time in a 60 min game Nuge, try again.
They'll focus on excuses and false hope to sell tickets before they ever take getting better seriously. If the fans keep buying it, and the players keep selling it... they'll wax on about how great they are every off-season, and excuse every loss year after year. It's crazy that fans encourage this.
But I'm sure glad they do!!

I was telling Oiler Fans when Peter got fired. If the headline read "Edmonton Oilers clean house" that would of been a major step in the right direction. Lowe, Howson, Mac-T, Nicholson, Gretzky all let go.

If you listen to the fans, management, media and players there's always someone else to blame or some unforeseen issue they have to overcome that no one else has.
We're a long way before Katz realizes that no one in the room is fixing the problem. Every solution they come up with is the next step to their incredible legacy, and as long as his favourite people have a human shield to throw away... this failure is inspite of their genius.
They just need a GM that can pull off the genius roster they're so close to pulling together.
