So, you agree Johnny is a ppg player. Did you know he scored the most 5v5 points in the league over the last 2 seasons? What do you objectively think a player who is potentially scoring the most offensive points 5 v 5 in the league over the last two seasons is actually worth? Find some comparable contracts. You're going to see that what you "think" is wrong.

I think most players who put up career highs in contract years tend to regress. I also don’t think he’s the franchise cornerstone playoff performer we require to take us to the cup, but a great #2. It’s also not always a points argument but look to past points to see what his production will likely be. It’s not a knock on him but a buyer beware remark that he’s not worth $11M in my view. What do you want me to say? I’m laying out my point of view but you’re still going on and on. Get over yourself.

Yeah. Any team probably needs a couple of those guys so a tank for two years is probably needed unless you can get a massive haul for a guy or two on the roster. Dunno what to say.
