You literally couldn't write a worst case scenario for a Jays fan.

What did we do to deserve having it go down like this?

Unbelievable
Employed the worst relief pitching in baseball?

To be fair, we all knew that they probably needed 2 of 3 vs the Yankees to make it happen.

Anyway, so this is presumably a new record for best run differential for any team to miss the playoffs? By, like, a lot?

It’s 1 game, then the Rays will steamroll them

I'll say it again the difference this year was the Jays not being home for the start of the season. Look at the record they have at Rogers Centre vs Florida/Buffalo. That easily is a couple of games.

Now would be a good time to impose my new proposed rule:

If a 9 inning game goes longer than 3 hours 30 minutes, BOTH teams lose.

Uh... a couple of games? It's 5 games at least. Probably closer to 10.

I don't know who to cheer for in the playoffs. Obviously for the Yanks or Sox to be knocked out as quick as possible. But there isn't really a likeable group in the bunch. Maybe the Brewers?

Exactly.

You can look at this game or that game, but every team has those.

Playing their first 44 'home' games in Dunedin and Buffalo, and going 22-22 (or whatever it was), is the reason they aren't in the playoffs.

Just such a shame seeing seasons from guys like Ray, Semien and somewhat Vladdy all go down the drain like this. Going to hurt even more if (when) Semien leaves.

#### you Natonals...

The only non hated team in the AL is the ChiSox.

I am rooting for anyone in the NL. Anyone - even the Dodgers.

Jay's had plenty of chances to win one more game...it's not bad luck they were good but not quite good enough. Fix the pitching problems.

They did. Just ran out of time
But they did a good job to stabilize the pen

They really did. Losing series openers to the likes of the Orioles or one of the many terrible bullpen appearances early on all add up and bite you in the ass at this point of a season.

They should have been in and relaxing at this point but they blew way too many opportunities.
