Should be interesting to see if it happens. That would be a big boost for Eli since Plax is gone now.

Browns back in full scale rebuilding mode?

Hmm thats interesting. Edwards was having an awful year and this deal makes sense with Burress gone now. In terms of WRs.. browns would have ZERO now if Edwards leaves and Winslow and Stallworth are gone.

Meanwhile, in Philadelphia....
McNabb should be livid if the Giants pull this off.

ESPN was talking about a specualted deal with the Eagles getting Chad Johnson/Ocho Cinco. That should solve your problems...

He's not my first choice but he's a lot better than what we have.

Ugh. Not like the Eagles have many draft picks or anything . 13 is it? 2 in the first round. I know they have offensive line issues, but man Braylon Edwards>>>Chad Ocho Cinco.
Haven't they learned their lesson with pri-madonna WR's?
I agree, McNabb must be livid.

I wonder if these rumours are being fueled with the expectation that one of the Ohio teams is going to draft Crabtree?

Hmm thats interesting... you would have to be pretty high on Crabtree to give up Edwards though. It makes sense to a point to deal Edwards and get 2 top guys in the 1st round. I rather have a proven Edwards then a potential bust in Crabtree.

Edwards had an off season last year. He's younger, has a better upside, and isn't a cancer in the locker room. I'd take him anyday over Ocho Cinco.

Since when is Johnson a cancer in the locker room? Flamboyant and outspoken yes...but to call him a cancer is a bit of a stretch.

Skipping portions of training camp is not a productive thing for any player to do.
It's a personal agenda to indicate he wishes to be traded, but it's still disruptive to the players currently on the team. Just ask Carson Palmer.

I'm just guessing. Since the rumours are coming out just before the draft and both teams have high picks.

Players skip training camps all the time because they are discontent with their contract. Most teammates realize that because that NFL teams have the ability to release players without penalty than you have to get all you can on your current contract or renegotiate. I don't think it bothers teammates when another sits out its part of the business. Obviously they would prefer to have the entire roster in training camp but it's just not realistic in a system where teams don't have to adhere to contracts.

Oh really he had an off year? Maybe his one year of 1000+ yards was the aberration and not the rule. You could say Ocho Cinco had an off year last year as he hadn't had less than a 1000 yards in 7 years before that. Edwards has had 1 year over 1000 in 4 years of play. Could Braylon Edwards have a better year than Ocho Cinco? That is certainly possible, but my money is on Ocho Cinco especially if he goes to the Eagles (if he stays with the Bengals he has to compete with Coles for catches).

Ocho Cinco is a huge upgrade on any WR talent the Eagles currently have. It's hard to argue Edwards doesn't have a brighter future, though.
Johnson's 31, and just had the worst season of his career (by far). 540 receiving yards was a disgrace last year.
Edwards is just 26, entering the prime of his career, and had an off year. His TD's were way down last year, partly to due with his drops, and part to do with the instability at QB in Cleveland last year. I think in the right offense he could be a dominant WR, similar to the year before where he had 16 TD's.
Either way, the Eagles NEED to make an upgrade at WR. Johnson, as echoed by RC, would not be my first choice, but an upgrade nonetheless.

Marshawn Lynch suspended by the NFL for the first 3 games of the season.
Bengals CB Leon Hall was arrested for DWI - he had double the legal limit in his system.
I think the first 3 weeks are going to tell people even less about teams than normal, simply because of all the off season suspensions that will need to be served.

The Bengals are such a mess. I don't know how much to point the finger at Marvin Lewis, but someone in the Bengals front office keeps signing and drafting absolute losers. That organization must have the most players suspended for off-field incidents over the past 5 years.
And then they sign Tank Johnson and some mock drafts have them drafting the troubled OT out of Alabama (smith?). Yikes.
