The Boss is actually putting on a pretty good show. And I'm not even that big of a fan.
I haven't done enough Boss exploration to be honest. My only experience really is Born in the USA. I'd like to get into more. I also get the impression from fans that Springsteen Live is always better than Springsteen studio.

Okay, for our 10th round pick, team Twist/Shout picks Külmale Maale by J.M.K.E. in the 86-90 category... Another "no-votes needed" pick
Born in Soviet era Estonia, Külmale Maale is the first and most famous album of this locally legendary punk band. I was trying to find something to say about this band and this album, but decided most of what I wanted to say about this would've been too much of a history lesson and just impossible to explain in less than book-length.
However, this is a really great old-school punk-rock band, definitely worth checking out if you like Dead Kennedy's for example. Lyrics translations are available, and great music just overrides linguistic boundaries. Catchy, funny, raw, clever. Perfect punk.
Tere Perestroika (Hello Perestroika) [includes a lyrics translation]
Valge Liblika Suvi (Valkoisen perhoisen kesä)
Mun vanaisa oli desertöör (My Grandfather Was a Deserter)

No music draft will die at calgarypuck. I will not allow it!

A dark, theatrical album seething with late-night tension and menace, Gimme Fiction is a bigger-sounding affair than Spoon's previous work, with lots of keyboards, guitars, and strings parts courtesy of the Tosca Strings. But, even with the album's bigger scope, the band keeps its eye for detail. Everything about Gimme Fiction, from its artwork — which looks like photographer Irving Penn doing a surreal fashion spread on Little Red Riding Hood for Vogue Magazine circa the 1950s — to the little sound effects that embellish each song, is meticulous.

For this pick, going to move The Black Keys - Rubber Factory into the Blues/Jazz/Classic category, in order to select... In 2003-2006.... Black Holes and Revelations by Muse

I select in the 2008 category, DEAR SCIENCE by TV ON THE RADIO (2008):
Perhaps an obvious choice (the most critically acclaimed record of 2008), but every time I listen, new levels are appreciated. At first I could not decide if I liked this one better than Return To Cookie Mountain (2006), but this one is revealing itself to be one of my all-time favorites. There is nothing like Wolf Like Me here, except maybe the last part of Halfway Home. This record sounds more like Prince at times. I saw them at Mac Hall last fall, and was not familiar with the new songs. It takes a few listens for these songs to sink in. TVOTR is on SNL this Saturday, and Colbert on Monday.
Not in fact Japanese, and not in fact even a duo (besides "Fujiya" — keyboardist and beat-maker Steve Lewis — and "Miyagi" — guitarist and vocalist Dave Best — there's also "&," bassist Matt Hainsby), Fujiya & Miyagi draw from influences like Neu! and Talking Heads to create warm, looping guitar riff-driven organic dance music that fits nicely next to other mid-2000s alternative dance bands like the Teddybears, Hot Chip, and even LCD Soundsystem. Live guitars and keyboards layer over funky basslines and mechanized drums, while Best whisper-sings about, among other things, broken bones, feeling OK, star signs, and "just pretending to be Japanese."
I like this draft. I don't have time to check out everything as it is, so the slowness doesn't really bother me. Besides, I'm hoping this will last until at least march 24th.
well I was going to originally select something different for this category, it would have been along the same lines, maybe a little more of a stretch and certainly more obscure, but this album is just too good
while I guess I am breaking a personal preference in that I dont actually own it on CD (and that really should be rectified) I do/did(?) own it on cassette
for the Rap / Hip Hop / R&B / Funk
Red hot chili peppers: Blood Sugar Sex Magik

Damn, I was hoping to sneak that one in this round. Good pick.
With my 10th, I select in the category of “Electronica / Techno”, Enya's masterpiece for the 1992 release “The Celts”. It’s actually a re-release of her self titled '87 album but this is the only one still in production.
Quote:
Enya (later re-released as The Celts) is the first album by Irish singer Enya, released in 1987 (see 1987 in music). Enya's first full-album recording, Enya / The Celts features music written and recorded for the soundtrack of the 1986 documentary television series, The Celts.
Recorded in 1986, it was not released until 1987 when the series was first broadcast. The album was first released in the UK by the BBC on their own label, and later issued in North America by Atlantic Records. In 1992, Warner Music reissued a remixed and slightly revised version of the album as The Celts. The original version Enya was no longer manufactured.

How can we print out the spread sheet so it fits on 1-2 pages? I want to go shopping.
I will need to screw with the spacings, to make it fit. Right now in Landscape it is about 2 1/2 pages wide.
It is kind of a dynamic thing though, and if someone picks a ling album then either the column gets wider or the row gets deeper to allow it to fit. At some point I'll see if I can get it into a more easily printable format.
