Just cant see the voters putting a two loss team ahead of an undefeated team that won a BCS game.

well lets see he was an underdog in 2000 and beat FSU in the title game.... Beat texas 5 years in a row , this year beat the number 2 team in Texas Tech , did what no other big 12 team did and beat a ranked big 12 opponent on the road ( oklahoma state) So he lost to FLorida tonight cause they breaks didnt go their way and went FLorida's so now he cant coach big games?
Yes he made a bone headed move going for it on 4th so early.... But the int on the 1 yard line was a fluke int getting knocked in the air 4 or 5 times, and the 2nd OU int was pretty flukey too , like i said the Defender didnt know he had the ball til he got up and saw it in his hands.... thats a 10 -14 pt swing on just the 2 int's could have been a 13-21pt swing if we convert the 4th on a td of FG...
Sure he has lost what 4 or 5 straight BCS games.... Hey maybe this is a mantra for the losers but it look like he lost more title games than everyone else has gotten too.... He has to be doing some form of coaching to get his team there and has prob won some big games in the process. I m sure you agree that home field advantage means a lot , just like the Flames of a couple years ago won almost all of the games at home and coudnt win on the road. They played LSU in 03 or 04 ( i cant remember) in New Orleans, basically making it a home game for LSU and tonight they played FLorida 300ish miles from Gainsville and the florida fans outnumbered the OU fans by more than 3-1 so it was a road game.

That was a great game. I had the cops called to my house thinking I was beating my fiance because I was yelling so loud. Im so happy for the gators. I cant wait to get back down to my home in florida and be back in title town.
But OU played a good game. The bounces didnt go their way but they went their way all year. The last pick was not just luck but it was skill too. But the first pick was just pure a fluke thing.
So nickerjones is that the excuse because the gators were from florida and it was a home game? I bet if you find the attendance and how many tickets were sold that it would be closer to 55-45 or 60-40 in fans for Florida. The Orange bowl com. trys to sell 50/50 but if the OU fans couldnt come they could get more UF fans. Im sorry that no big bowls or any? are played in Oklahoma.
Stoops looked like he was going to cry at the very end of the game it was kinda funny but he has nothing to hang his head about. the team played well and had a good year. But I am more happy that OU didnt score 802934u83097 points because the offense is the greatest that anyone has saw.

So this shows us why the Big 12 and the Big 10 were so over rated all year IMO. Both exposed that once out of conference they along with the ACC wer very average overall.

Your post makes no sense. USC beat a number 8 team, and Utah beat a number 4 team.
USC may be the favorite if they played each other, but there is no way that you can argue that USC's season was more impressive than Utah's. Alabama was the strongest team on either team's schedule, so Utah has the most impressive win. Utah beat their only common opponent, and thus Utah didn't lose a game. Mountain west was 6-1 against the pac 10, so the case could be made that Utah had the stronger conference schedule. I don't see how you could make any case that USC deserves to be higher. They should have been given #1.

The 2nd interception was an awesome play and sure skill had something to do with it but i would call it more luck.... I mean its kind of like a pitcher on a ball hit back up the middle at him.. he reacts to protect himself and the ball sticks in his glove. Same thing happened there , like i said the kid didnt know he had the ball until he got up and it was in his hands... Not taking anything away from him it was a great play.
Secondly i never ever ever said anything about making excuses. It was a home game for Florida, I know your gator colored glasses make you wanna think it was 60/40 but it wasnt, look at the stands outnumbered at least 3-1. All i am saying is that it wasn't a neutral field....Kind of like the Cotton Bowl for OU/Tx is a neutral field. Seriously the game is played against the university of TEXAS, in dallas TEXAS, during the TEXAS state fair. Seems real neutral to me huh Sure Fans might be almost equal but its still not neutral. I always was a fan of having them play a home and home..It was a home game for Florida just like the sugar bowl is a home game for LSU. It's not Florida's fault, but they did take advantage of it and like i said those are the breaks. Im not making excuses cause that would take away from Florida's great game . It was an evenly matched game and i enjoyed an OU game where it wasnt over at halftime.
and on the comment about Tebow being made out to be a diety, I was sickened with the broadcast. It was just a huge verbal blow job of Tim Tebow. He is a great college player , and thats all he will be, but geez get off his sack..... It made it seem like Tebow was the only player on his team and he carried them the whole way. To be honest i wasn't impressed with him, he made a couple good plays but nothing extradorinary.... He made himself look like a damn fool running around flailing about like a 10 yr old imitating what he saw on a video game.....Now Percy Harvin, he is a stud...

What a great game last night. Tim Tebow is a stud, a media darling and therefore it gets a little sickening, but having a QB that can run over safeties and push LBs for extra yardage just doesnt seem fair. He might be a pretty good tightend at the next level.
I was disappointed in Bradford. I just think the Florida defense completely overwhelmed him. The second pick was just an amazing play by Florida, but the whole night, he seemed out of place and lost. How many trips does that offense need in the red zone in the first half to get the job done.
Stoops needs to win something big again or else he is going to be Tressel of the south. This was not as great of a season as Oklahoma makes it out to be. I'm still in the camp that USC-Florida would have been the best/most deserving game followed by Texas-Florida.
As for the final rankings, I thought they were pretty good. Utah definitely deserved the #2 spot and got a fair number of votes to give them credit for a great season. USC #3 is accurate. My only complaint is that Alabama was left too high. Utah is a great team, but I think Alabama was overrated from the jump because of their coach (Saban).

If you look at the 3 top teams, and their records against teams in the final rankings. Utah's is the most impressive, no matter how you slice it. USC does not deserve consideration:
Utah
no losses
wins against 6,7,18,25
Florida
lost to 14
wins against 5,6,13,21
USC
lost to 18
wins against 8,9,10

Agreed, but would you bet your own nfotiu $ on Utah beating USC? I wouldn't.

Exactly. The win over Alabama was impressive, but stacked up against USC or Florida, I don't think Utah wins either.
Alabama peaked at the beginning of the season and was over-ranked up until their loss to Florida.
USC and Florida were IMO the best teams at the end of the season.
If Utah wants to continue to be a legit program, develop your other sports and join the Pac-10. No matter how much whining people do, MAC, WAC, etc... conferences will not be given preference over bigger, established conferences... right or wrong.

What logic are you using to back that statement up? Utah's strength of schedule was better the USC's and Alabama's. I would argue that if Utah was in the Pac 10 this year they would have had an easier ride then the MWC. Both conferences have some pretty easy bottom feeders and after USC the Pac 10 drops off.
