Oh, good to know. Always thought his heritage would be Hungarian, but that's just his father and his name.

Don't like him too much though so I hope him and Gomez who did less than nothing for us won't be needed during the final.

Edit:
(Very) low quality video by a friend that nevertheless shows what was going on in my city.

Funny part starts at around 2.30.

Sadly some idiots here used the soccer fans as cover and spread some violence which spoils the party a lot but I guess this never will go away.

Spain and Russia face off for the right to meet Germany in the Final.

No surprise that I'm going to go with Spain, but its not going to be a steamrolling event like the first game. The Russians are playing some pretty good soccer right now and have that lethal counter-attack.

The Russians and the Spanish are very offensively minded teams so I think this should be a fairly back and forth affair, but I give the edge to Spain on defence and goaltending.

This should be a great game.

BRAVO ESPANA!

I predicted the finalists in my pool, so victory will be mine. I picked ESP to beat GER 2-1 in the final. All these years of picking Spain in tournaments, finally pays off.

Finally, Spain have solved their problem of years and years of underachiving!

They wore ugly mustard-yellow

Have they totally shed themselves of the under achiever status though?? SHouldn't they have to win it?? For a country of their stature, sure, making the final is all good and grand, but it probably won't mean anything unless they win on Sunday.

Bad news for Spain, no David Villa for them on Sunday, he strained a muscle against Russia.

I think so because they had done nothing for so long. If you compare the recent history of your team Portugal 2000 semifinal, 2004 final, 2006 semifinal.. in 6 years that's nearly as much as Spain has done in their entire history!

Any news on who they're going to put in in place of David Villa? Cesc Fabregas I know is a midfielder, but he has the ability to score...

It really depends. Swapping out a striker with a midfielder would require an overall change in tactics which I dont think they want to do as the current tactics are working quite admirably.

I'll bet that Guiza starts in place of Villa.

I've been getting upset that Aragones pulls Torres off so much but now I hope he does. Actually, let Torres sit on the bench the whole game.

Go Germany!!

Bad news for Germany, it looks like no Michael Ballack for them on Sunday, he injured his calf in practice.

Is this the same calf that bothered him in the wc? or was that his ankle?

Im sure that Ballack will play sunday this is what will make his name as the captain of the german squad.

He is not ruled out yet, but they have listed him as doubtful. The report claims its a clenched muscle, so it can be treated, but it might flare up again between treatment and game time or during the game.

If he can walk he will be suited up and started.

This is Ballack's defining moment until Germany wins the World Cup.
