People are certainly entitled to their political ideologies but what really stings is how people can accept that bigot Danielle Smith as the face of their party. Truly disappointing to see an awful human being rewarded with the most powerful position in the province. For the people who said, I didn’t vote for smith but rather the party, that’s truly cowardly. The province legitimized an extremist which is truly frightening. If someone who is devoid of character, integrity and sensibility can win with so much ease it really paints a poor picture of the electorate. Unfortunately Albertans are going to have to learn the hard way until this type of behaviour is eliminated. Rewarding this deranged lunatic sets a very dangerous precedence.

At the end of the day the NDP is 8 back, they would need to run the table on flipping the vote for all of these, it could look closer that we all expect in the morning, but not all 8.

Bow
Cross
East
Foothills
Glenmore
North
NorthWest
West

Edgemont looks done, unless their is a surge of advanced votes from out of riding.

No insults just truth about people who have moronic views.

It’s why we haven’t seen a single justifiable reason to support the UCP. Why no UCP voter has or can give a defense of the party or it’s policies.

There are people driving down Shaganappi Trail through Varsity honking their horns and celebrating the victory. I don't think I've ever seen that sort of excitement before.

Notley made it an issue about which leader do you trust and it now appears that didn't work. Personally I thought all the sound bytes Notley used would be effective in giving voters pause for thought.

Which ones? The NDP are currently behind in Bow, Cross, East, Edgemont, Fish Creek, Foothills, Glenmore, Hays, Lougheed, North, Northwest, Peigan, Shaw, Southeast, and West.

They'll be lucky to win one of those, never mind six.

The American right-wing rot personified by - but unfortunately not limited to - Donald Trump is alive and well in Canada. I don't know where the war on facts, reason, and basic human decency leads, but doesn't seem like it will be somewhere good.

Unfortunately, while I think notley is the strongest leader in the ndp camp, the baggage she has from her time as leader, right or wrong, means she has to step down. Probably need to rename party and colors. Should have merged with the AB party in 2020 and renamed the thing.

Yeah but she should have won against a punching bag like Smith. But her record of the economy weakening, raising taxes, raising minimum wage has some people upset where she lost in both 2019 and 2023 against weak leaders. I don't agree but that's the perception. The next time Smith runs, she will have a record people will punish her for.

Might get a #### Smith decal for my truck just to see how many of these lunatics can’t take what they give.

Pretty disappointed in this province right now actually. NDP did a terrible job this campaign, been saying it since day 1. Half the voters are getting their info from Facebook memes and recycled rhetorics and the NDP failed to leverage that.

Are there really a lot of people who don’t understand how the UCP won?

The UCP are worse off than yesterday. The NDP made great ground in Calgary. While they will form a majority government, they lost at least 11 seats here.

Justifiable in who's eyes? People vote their positions.
