In some ways I think this depends on the old question - "is it the car or the driver?"

Clearly RB has the best car. But is "win every race of the year" good or is it "win just ahead of the pack" good. Because either Perez is doing a good job and Max is the GOAT, OR Max is good and Perez is terrible.

I can't see any possible scenario that puts Ham in RB. Max wouldn't want the competition, and they don't get along at the best of times so why would any team manager with half brain pit them against one another under the same roof? DR is in the wings and Perez is fine as a runner up. It would be such a big risk to both drivers ego's a well, Ham comes in and equals Max shows it's the car not the driver so Max takes a hit, or Ham comes in and equals Perez and his ego takes the hit.

but is you want to see both your cars wadded up in the barriers week after week this would be the way to do it.

You're saying they shouldn't consider my amusement the number one factor when making personnel decisions?

I get that it's extremely unlikely. I just think all the associated drama, bruised egos, etc would be hugely entertaining.

Oh no argument from me on that, it would be hugely entertaining! we haven't really had any in team drama since Hamilton/Rosberg and even that was pretty benign.

I disagree. Max 100% wants the competition. I think he’d be ecstatic to have Lewis as a teammate. Sure he’d react like a whiny little baby if he lost but I doubt that would be the case. He’s on another level from the rest of the field at the moment.

I think it’s Lewis who wouldn’t want to go to RB and potentially be 2nd best and be relegated to 2nd driver.

You've consistently been best or close to it for top-10 picks though, it's only been your slotted that has been weak. And that's probably more bad luck than anything else, which with a big enough sample should average out.
