Let's hope that Belgium devours Croatia.

Unfortunate result but, if nothing else, Canada should feel no sense of intimidation going into their next two matches.

Canada totally dead on their feet by the end. No way back now.

I believe in the Jays.

Damn, we were the far better team except for finishing.

It's a shame we got caught by that one play on their goal, as otherwise we've been decently solid. Unfortunately, lots of missed opportunities where more finish quality likely would have made for a different outcome. Too many over kicks too.

Just a really disappointing result. Better team in possession for most of the game but some of the worst finishing I've ever seen.

Could have won this. That's an incredible result even if we lost.

I really want to be as proud as we all should be. But I’m mostly angry and rueful.
On to the next match I guess. Team will need some intestinal fortitude to avoid dwelling on this unfortunate result and bury those chances next game.

Pleased with the effort and the play. But there is no room for moral victories at the WC.
Disappointing after coming out so strong.

Is it really though? Canada played well. kept their goal diff to 1. If they can play that well against Croatia and Morocco then they advance.

Disappointing, but good showing nonetheless. Jitters aside should be able to compete again Sunday. Some bad giveaways, lack of creativity in the box, room for improvement for sure.

Isn't this whole WC about moral victories and preparing for 2026?

XG were 2.83 to 0.86
Canada deserve so much more here today.
Belgium could not handle the press or the pace that Canada had on the wings.

I would say so. You catch a good team on a bad day and you need to take advantage. Grabbing 3 points here would have almost guaranteed a trip to the knockout stage. Instead, if they have any kind of letdown against Morocco or Croatia, they're likely out of the tournament.
