according to thescore app it says brassard took a 2 minute cross checking penalty at the end of the period

Brassard got a penalty for retaliating. Look for the refs to add a roughing call to Mangiapane before the start of the third.

The officiating has just killed any chance of a proper game here.
A bunch one way, then a bunch the other is also stupid. Refs turned this into a barn burner.
This is one where I wish they would just let them play.

Also, how annoying is it to hear the panel talk about how great it would be to have Flames – oilers series, when the Oilers are useless unless they have a man advantage. Such BS.

If it weren't for uneven penalties, game shouldn't be close.
I don't think sutter will be happy in general. Not a right, controlled game, but it has been a fun game.
