That doesn't sound like a fun working environment.
I'm not a "blame Sutter for everything" guy but personnel hasn't changed much from last year. So either he was not controlling this as well as Huska or, with his absence, the players have stepped up more and controlled it themselves.

I dunno, I can see Zadorov's comments as almost contributing to problems.

I think that the issues Coleman described were happening this season, as a continuation from last season. Too bad we can't know which players were bitching about eachother. The story seems eerily similar to when we had Regehr vs. Iginla in the dressing room.

I also wonder if that was one of the key factors behind all the defensive breakdowns and high GA. Hopefully they finally figured things out. Allowing 2 goals or less in the last 3 games has me cautiously optimistic, even though Markstrom stood on his head in the last game.

I don’t really see those comments as prompting some kind of referendum on Darryl.
Maybe there has been a breakthrough, time will tell. Dysfunction on a club is rarely discussed in the present tense.

Coleman is good, but not worth the money he is getting. Watching his weak shot is funny though.

Never thought he'd reach full value for that cap hit.

He's full value and some, arguably, this season. Pretty cool. Not the guy I pegged at the outset to take the reins offensively for this group.

He's on pace for 70 points this season with a cap hit of 4.9M while being great defensively and a leader. This season, he is out performing his contract significantly and it's not even close!

Blake Coleman is here to kick ass and chew bubble-gum and he's all out of bubble-gum...

Coleman has been nothing but money, money, money. What I wouldnt give to have seen him play with a 'Prime Monahan.'

Of all of this team's weaknesses and failings and everything else his name is never mentioned because he is full value and then some.

It’s funny because it’s actually a pretty good team. We just need a star or two to add to the mix.

Coleman is leading all forwards in the NHL with a +23 on a team that is collectively -1. Any chance he could win the top defensive forward award?

the Athletic did a recent mid-season trophy story and Coleman wasn't mentioned. Top candidates were Nick Suzuki, Sam Reinhart, Jordan Staal, Alex Barkov and William Karlsson.
I feel like the Selke award is also highly reputational and with Bergeron now retired, a lot of voters will give it to someone who has been good for a long time but couldn't win v. Bergeron. So I'm going to guess it goes to Barkov.

As it probably should because he really is that good defensively while also adding offense, but I'm struggling to understand the Reinhart addition. He's pretty good defensively, but I'm never wowed by his defensive prowess.

I could say the same thing for Coleman, knowing that Backlund does about 70% of the heavy defensive lifting for his line. He's above average in his own zone, but I'm never wowed by him.

I would say Coleman is noticeable on most nights for his high effort level. He’s always managed to generate a decent level of offense and this season the chances are ending up in the net for him. It’s nice to see.

I was just going to post as I was wondering if Coleman might get some votes for Selke. Admittedly, I don't watch any of the other players mentioned enough to be able to say, but if these writers do watch all the teams roughly the same amount, then they must also have extremely solid defensive play, I guess...
