Even Phil Jackson would have called a timeout in that 21-0 run. Chris Finch might have gotten himself fired with that one sequence.

Draymond’s defense IQ is insane

It still annoys me that KD went to Golden State.
This team was probably a dynasty still without him.

Related to the KD Warriors, that team was only possible because KD's free-agency corresponded with a huge spike to the cap, caused by a new TV deal. The next TV deal is in 2025, and expected to be another huge increase. We don't know yet what we'll see in terms of a cap increase then (the league may decide to push for cap-smoothing this time to prevent a spike), but this season I think we'll see a lot of players and some big-market teams starting to line up their contracts to end in that year. If there are more 3-year contracts than usual, that's a sign of the influence of that TV deal.

Embiid is rumoured to be dealing with a possible damaged ligament in his right (shooting hand) thumb, but will attempt to play through it.
This makes the game 3 loss so much more painful. Down 2-1 and with Embiid nursing an injury is a much more manageable task.

Was thinking the exact same after seeing the news about Embiid. A good reminder why you never give up despite going down 0-2.

If I'm Precious, i'm smacking that hand every chance I get today. And of course say "sorry" each time.

I think Embiid is fine. I think they're floating it out there to get the legend to grow on the guy. He obviously sprained it but I think they're exaggerating it a bit as injury information wouldn't normally leak. Anyway, they have to attack the ball hard today and if they follow through on a couple of those follow-through's and they happen to make contact with that hand, so be it. It certainly seems like it'll be a sweep, but they have to play hard like last game. And Nurse has to call appropriate timeouts rather than sitting on his hands hoping things will work out.

That’s pretty damn cool considering all the experts saying he was a bad pick and the least NBA ready out of any of the top picks.

I mean forget the experts, re-read this thread from when the pick was made. There was overwhelming disappointment at passing on the "proven" Suggs for more of a "project" in Barnes. Just another reminder that with the best front office in the league they deserve our complete trust even when it seems like a curious decision.

I was definitely upset that we didn’t take Suggs. Glad I was proven wrong

We were actually pretty reasonable on this board compared to other places. There was some serious anger and outrage other places after the pick.
It was a pretty cool scenario in the end. You could see immediately when Barnes took the court that either everyone was wrong about how far behind Suggs he was, or that he had already closed that gap between the draft and training camp.
His attitude and energy are immense. He’s going to be an impactful player for a long time, and it will be fun to see how far he can develop his offence.

Oh sure, we were fairly reasonable, but still mostly disappointed. Speaking of disappointed, would have been fun to see Scottie with the ball at the end of the game in game 3. Maybe he has that "it" in him to take over and carry them to the win. Guess we'll find out next year.

That Anunoby "foul" on Embiid was definitely not. I hate this reffing game.

This game is a rollercoaster. One time leading by 12, then a few minutes later just 5, then tie. Dunno why both teams are being so inconsistent.
