Probably next year...Montreal won 24 of 56 games they were pretty fortunate to even get in
Perry is what he is, league min older guy on waivers and a free agent...not a big miss by the Flames or anyone else IMO
Again its a nice story for them but they are about to get absolutely pounded IMO
Yes I would rather have Markstrom long term than a Perry/TT combo. Besides its not like the Flames had that choice anyway.

Props to the Canadians for getting into the conference finals. I still can’t believe they made it this far.

Should have known the most successful hockey team ever would win Canadian bragging rights.
Habs now 32-24-11 for the year. Would need to win the cup going 8-5 to hit .500.

Perry has been a difference maker throughout the year for Montreal, at less money than Josh Leivo.
This a year after he was in the finals with Dallas.
Would that our waiver fodder be so productive.

This is the third time since 2010 that the Habs have made it to the final four. In each of those years, they never finished above 3rd in their own Division in the regular season.
In both 2010 and this year, they had fewer points in the regular season than at least two teams that missed the playoffs.

Agreed
So many little decisions. Only Tanev really worked out
Tre’s cheap options flopped. Guys like Spezza and Perry delivered great value for money. I’d take Forbort over Nesterov too
Toffoli was a great pickup and delivered
I kind of like what the Habs have going here

Lifetime Suspension

That may be the most pathetic showing in a series by a half decent roster in some time (Jets).
Out before the thing felt like it even hit the ground.
Unreal.
There's no way any of the other second round clubs don't take at least a game from the Habs and make life significantly harder than that.
Overconfident after sweeping McSucks?

I dunno.
The only reason they saw the second round is because Edmonton is worse.

JETS LOSE!! IN HILARIOUS FASHION!!
That may be the most pathetic game I've ever seen from a team facing elimination. And I'm a Leafs fan.
The Sabres would have swept that Jets team. Yeesh!

He's probably praying that its the Home Opener, because if I were a Jets player thats the game I'd want to miss after getting their asses handed to them like this...

Let me know what you like after the reality check next week
Habs were so awesome and shrewd with their moves they won 24 of 56 games
Anyway I never said anything about Leivo or anyone else...I said I would rather have Markstrom moving forward than Perry/TT

Spezza was never an option so that is irrelevant
|
Wasn't Price out for a big chunk of their season at the end there? They're a better team than their record shows.
They won't be pushovers. These other series seem to be wide-open with little defence. I'm interested to see how these teams look against a grid you down, slow the game down to a crawl style of play.

Yeah, so that was not in direct response to your post, it was to someone else. But thanks for jumping in and letting me know what you said
It sucks for the Flames but the Habs did better than the Flames, enough to get to the post season, and won Canada. Despite having some key injuries. This was *the year* for bragging rights. All Canadian division. One time only.
They’re still playing. Final four. They have won more rounds this year than the Flames have in what, 15 years?
Little decisions matter

It reminds me of people saying stuff like "LOL now the Habs will keep Begervin longer."
Thing is his teams have done well. Last year they beat the Pens and now they've won two series.
I wish my team had as "inept" a GM as the Habs.

GOAT!

Teams get swept every year, but it takes a special level of sucking to get swept by a team that got swept themselves in the very next round.

That is, I believe, around .5% or about 1 in 176 chance of happening.
Pretty lame

Flip a coin on that one. The Avs will be just as big of a problem for the Habs.
