If true, this is indeed the darkest timeline.

If that's the case then Treliving can go with him. Gulutzan has done nothing these last two seasons to warrant another chance.

They can't let that guy keep his job. Being losers is one thing. Being losers who aren't even fun to watch is another. Man I'm going to be pissed if we keep him another season.

The exit interviews are over, and Gully was reported to have met with Treliving on Tuesday. The autopsy has to be done by now. I'm guessing if his firing isn't announced by tomorrow afternoon, we're likely looking at another season of Gulutzan hockey, which will indeed be the darkest timeline.

Alberta will be like Ohio in the NFL - the Browns up north, the Bengals here. Good times.

Have some patience people. Given the events last weekend plus the fact that Treliving has shown to be pretty methodical I don't think he's in a rush to do anything atm.

I wonder what's the unwritten NHL rule about replacing a coach. Do they always fire a coach first and look for replacement thereafter; or vice versa - quietly get a deal done with a new coach and only then fire the old one after that?

Hire the new coach, have him setup in GG's office while he's away.

Well Montreal did it last season when they fired Therrien and hired Julien at the same time.

Treliving mentioned wanting to discuss his thoughts on the season with "others" to see if they felt the same way. Friedman is reporting that Treliving is wresting with the decision.

Sounds to me like he would be leaning towards firing GG. But again, we see what we want to see I suppose.

Treliving thought hiring Gulutzan was a good idea. I have no faith he will make the right decision on the next coaching hire. Treliving will be fired when his next coaching debacle is jettisoned.

Despite the frustrations, it should not be a shock that a team would consider keeping a coach after only two years. Despite that, I am still hoping for a replacement. But I am not the person to say "I refuse to watch this team if ____" because I love the Flames and we all know most of you will be back regardless

Friday will bring news of a firing or it will bring a CP meltdown.

I pray to the hockey gods that I wont be part of a meltdown.

Would be interesting to see defense primary and secondary assist totals under Hartley vs GG. I'd assume that during Hartley there would be more, seeing more goals scored off the rush. Would have to compare to total goals, player normals etc, but still.

I really want our D to be activated more by a new coach.

I will be dissapointed, but I will watch some games. I say some as I will not purchase centre ice next year if he is back.

Wouldn't be surprised if they don't announce anything about the coach status till a round or 2 of the playoffs are in the bag. See what coaching options are even out there.

Personally, I would have been willing to can GG as soon as av came onto the market.

That fact Treliving is even (allegedly) hesitating firing Gully speaks volumes to me.
