Are there any other parties that have had such a grip on power for so long?
All I can think of is totalitarian countries and places like Mexico with somewhat corrupt elections.
I assume there is no other province with a 40 year dynasty, what about the States and Europe?

See anything wrong with that?
Also, you talk about entitlement, and then request a moderator go back and purge quotes of your rant?

Stand behind what you say (and believe) or don't say it. But to post it and then go "nm" when it gets strong negative reaction or it gets mocked is pretty lame.
But like saying Slava makes a drive by that is "beneath him". Well no, you derailed the thread towards government employee sick days. Slava made a funny point, but a fair one. You complain about government sick days, but the CPC has done nothing, at all, about this. And as they have a majority, and as you are a supreme CPC supporter, you should demand they do something about it. But as the worst political homer on this site, you will always conveniently ignore all CPC/WR flaws and hammer the Liberals or whoever for those exact same flaws.

I deleted the threads when people started making personal attacks on my wife and her "ethics". And that's the last I'm commenting on this topic.

The Socreds in Alberta, and the UFA in Alberta
Since 1921 (Almost 100 years) We have pretty much only had 3 political parties form the majority Government, each being a continuos dynasty.
We Albertans seem to love dynasties

Don't bring up your wife or her work ethics if you don't want people to respond to it. They weren't personal attacks. You brought it up initially.

I was thinking of current dynasties outside of Alberta.
I really don't think it is natural for them to be in power for so long. I prefer the BC system of the Liberals in power until they offend too many people and then the NDP takes over for a bit as the pendulum swings back and forth.

Outside of Alberta, I think only dictators have longer shelf lives than the incumbent Albertan political party.

Clearly the Wildrose have been very effective in defining the current debate and focusing on the culture of entitlement rooted so very deeply in the PC party. Let's hope they can continue to experience such high polling numbers into the next couple years by bringing to light how terrible the current government really is.

The PCs in Ontario ruled from '43 to '85.

Just a response to your equally thought provoking post. Thought I'd join you in the gutter for awhile.
Since you seem to hate the wildrose so much, what would be your preferred path forward?
Would you like to continue racking on debt for future generations to deal with? Or would you prefer a huge hike in taxes to try and afford current spending levels?
How do you anticipate being able to finance future expenditures based upon current spending levels and the growth in such over the past decade?

I haven't invested enough emotion to "hate" the wild rose, I just think they're a joke. They're a typical "also ran" party who never has to put down legitimate policy and can just snipe constantly in the media without the fear of ever having to do anything. It's so boring to hear the same thing over and over and over from their leader.
They're basically the federal NDP.

I don't understand why taxes are such a huge boogeyman in Alberta.
If Peter Lougheed thought tax rates should increase, why is this idea treated like a communist conspiracy to take your money?
It is baffling to me.

Can someone link the thread that lead to First Lady's exit again? I know I saw it somewhere but I can't find it...

I'm tired of you drive-bys. Are you really so out of touch you can't offer an opinion other than hatred?
