You've got to be kidding me. Keep that opinion to yourself and bite your tongue IMO so you don't ruin it for the rest of us.

Trevelyan is old news now. He hasn't done anything in his time in Calgary; he's like the Al Duerr of the hockey world. Looking forward to getting some fresh blood in this organization, especially someone who will actually make an impact.

Good hire for SNET if/when it is true.
He's one of the best, if not the best NHL reports / hosts / insiders / opinion columnist in the country. He should be where the hockey is, and next year that's Rogers SN.

Given that, I sure there is a very mutual desire to make something work. Why wouldn't Rogers want one of the best on their new national coverage team, and why wouldn't Elliott want to be working on the premier broadcast. High motivation for them both to work it out.

Good for us and next year if it happens

Friedman's has had a relationship with Rogers programming for a while, he's often on Bob McCown's radio/TV show too. If he makes the move officially, him and Brunt will be their most talented guys.

Brunt is just great.

I hope they keep Friedman more in a reporting role than an analyst role like CBC is pushing him into. He's a great hot stove guy, he's not as good when he's analyzing the game being played.

edit: that's not to say he's bad at it, just not his forte.

My co-host and CalgaryPuck's very own CagedGreat applied for the job. I was rooting for him. Maybe you'll be considered for the AGM job buddy!

With all the changes to the broadcasts both radio and tv in the last week, who knows where he will fit in. I do enjoy his analysis and he does have some good sources on things. I expect him to be on a panel for Sportsnet West during games.
