C'mon Flames, get another goal. A regulation win would be nice!

Completely one-sided game at this point, be lucky to keep this tied for another 10 minutes.

Glencross a -3 but please keep Baertschi on the fourth line. Pathetic.

The NHL likes their Rules ambiguous for a reason.

Nice play by Bouwmeester there. The forwards have been abysmal this period.

I think you got your wires crossed there. Directing is absolutely allowed, hence the ruling.

No you can direct it, just not kick it. The rule was changed a while back.

He is a fish out of water when trying to carry the load of a #1 goalie.

ah well we still have our pick since the avs matched so we win a better draft position even if we lose.

For sure, but that won't matter against Calgary in the grand scheme.

Going by the rule book, it's a good goal, I guess.

A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player’s skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal.

No kidding. Both Glencross and Sven would benefit from the switch.

78.5 Disallowed Goals – Apparent goals shall be disallowed by the
Referee and the appropriate announcement made by the Public
Address Announcer for the following reasons:
(i) When the puck has been directed, batted or thrown into the net by an
attacking player other than with a stick.
(ii) When the puck has been kicked using a distinct kicking motion.
|
This is from the NHL Rulebook. Point (i) is where the debate seems to be, but my impression before this game is that they are only calling off goals off the skate if there is that distinct kicking motion (ii)

You can't propel, or change the momentum of the puck. Basically you can't force the puck into the net, which he did. You can "point" your skate at the net to deflect the puck but not propel it. Hated the skate rule since they implemented it so I will never agree with a "kicked" goal, haha
