I don't know why exactly Granlund played only 10 min, but it's not like he's been playing that well, so it wouldn't surprise me to see the coach give more ice time to other forwards instead of him. I'm sure he'll get back to his normal time soon enough.

Laurent Brossoit with 15/16 stops against the Hitmen.
Some notes:
- He seems to have that tough minded spirit we see from Kiprusoff. He gave up a goal against the Hitmen fairly early, but it never seemed to rattle him. By comparison, Dreiger (Hitmen) seemed to bobble and throw around the puck more when he was scord on
- Brossoit has a tendency to drop on his knees early. As in he always drops, and was caught once or twice having to slide while in butterfly. His other movements are good for a big goalie, but if players shot high, he'd be in trouble.
- Glove hand is solid
- No major issues with rebound control, though as a big goalie his age, that can always improve. Same with lateral movement.

Ortio with a 3-2 win against a good Kärpät team. 26 saves. Nice to see some wins.

Granlund had 1+1 in a win over Canada today at the World Juniors and by all accounts was pretty impressive.

I don't think he won many face offs though.

33%, 6-12. Surprised that he took so many. I don't think he takes many faceoffs on HIFK. Strome seemed weak on the Canadian side, but then one game is a very small sample size.

Brett Kulak has an assist and is a +5 (!!!) after two periods, as Vancouver leads Prince George, 6-4.
EDIT: his assist has been changed to a goal, his 6th of the season.

One thing I may consider as a factor in his numbers is that Omsk Avangard last year were considered a defensive shell (if memory serves, every game of the championship series last year were 1 or 2 goals against Ramo and lost in 7). I'm not sure if that has changed. If not, then Ramo's numbers may be a little misleading.
I wouldn't doubt though that he's ready for an NHL return...but that "instant starter" might not apply.

John Weisbrod on the Fan 960 today about John Ramage:
- tough to tell where Ramage fits into Flames long term plans
- has had an up and down college hockey career from an evaluation standpoint
- good news is that this season may be Ramage's best
- leader on the team, plays in all situations
- has shown some bite and physicality this year that he hasn't shown in the past
- most importantly Ramage has tightened up his physical conditioning and off ice work ethic - something the Flames and Ramage have been working on since Ramage's first training camp.
- the times Weisbrod has seen him in person Ramage has played well
The interesting thing at the end is that Weisbrod wouldn't speculate on whether the Flames would be giving Ramage a contract. Said they would have to evaluate all the players coming in and the number of contracts they had.

So we went from Feaster reportedly asking Ramage to leave college early so he could turn pro to Weisbrod's quotes today.
What's going on?
