Ah ####. She's obviously had a lot of demons and mental health issues in her life, along with her son dying a few years ago.

I always felt bad about how the world treated her for ripping up the picture of the pope on SNL. In hindsight, she was so obviously on the right side of that one.

Yeah...if nothing else hopefully this brings her peace.
She had a tumultuous life.

This is my favourite song of hers...

I also love Sean-Nós Nua , her album of traditional Irish folk songs (along with a Canadian folk song "Peggy Gordon") and listen to it often. Beautiful voice.

I always thought that her constant fight with her demons meant she would be unlikely to live to an old age. She was on the right side of the argument for many of her fights, and she paid dearly for them.
Hopefully now, she has found peace.

Brutal, she was quite an incredible woman.
My favorite song of her's was actually quite recent:

Norm!
I really loved her voice, and it was sad that she had such a troubled life, but was tough enough to fight hard for her beliefs.
The first song I ever heard of her's is still one of my favorites

I mean, I know it was 1992, but some people's vehemence in defending the Vatican and the string of Popes all the way from WWII up to essentially now is ridiculous.
Fast forward a decade to the Spotlight Investigation in Boston and most of those guys should have been in prison.

Her son dying seemed to push her over the edge. This isn't shocking news, sadly.

Yeah, same. Major deja-vu right now.
Such a talented singer, but also troubled and her views on society and religion were inconsistent, especially after her conversion to Islam.

She attempted suicide many times in the past. Not sure that's the cause of her death, but sure seems likely. Really sad. So talented, so many demons.
