But then award a draft pick to the flames for making them play in the game.

Oilers being trash in the only bright part of this season.
Do Holland and Woodcroft survive the season?

Funny thing about last night is that the Rangers are on a back to back and play Vancouver tomorrow so they had to decide which team would get to face their backup... apparently sans McDavid they respect the Oilers even less than the Canucks, so they saved their big guy for Vancouver...
And of course Quick got a shutout.

Playing backups and rookies against the Oilers is the easiest bet in the house. Has been for years.

To be fair the Flames just got shut out by the Blues backup goaltender that was sporting a 6+ GAA going into the game. Teams can probably flip a coin to decide which game to start the backup going through Alberta on back to backs.

It’s almost unbelievable how terrible Flames hockey has been this season and we are still ahead of the Oilers.

7 games into the season and half their forwards still don't have a single point.
Erne, Brown, Janmark, Ryan, McLeod, Holloway.

3-time Stanley Cup champion, Quick. All's well in Mudville.

McLeod and Holloway are big ones too. McLeod isn't anything special but if you want to win a cup, you need some secondary prospects to perform.
Holloway is another top prospects not doing much. He might still be good, but likely not in time before their big 2's contracts are up

Just three more games and Brown gets his nice, juicy $3.225 million bonus. Do the Oilers waive him before then?
