What do we think about Tarasenko as a possible deadline pick-up for the flames? A 225lb, left-shot, RW sniper that fits a clear need for the flames.

I think he would be expensive and it isn’t likely that he comes here. Unless an asset is going back the other way St. Louis would have to retain as well

Wonder if Washington potentially looks at moving Tom Wilson if they start to fade out of the playoffs with how tight it is in the eastern conference.

The owner came out earlier in December and said that the Capitals won't rebuild while OV is chasing the goals record.
So I definitely don't see them selling key pieces like Wilson.

They might sell him for a puck-rushing D, but we don’t want to part with any of ours…..

If Tom Wilson was a Flame, he may as well bring a sleeping back to the penalty box.

Are there any decent LW/RW players that wouldn’t cost a 1st (more like a 2nd or a 3rd + a good prospect) that could be a steal, given the right circumstances? Don’t think it’s wise for us to move our 1st this draft. Tarasenko would cost that.

I’d like Domi for sure. Imo he’d be a great middle 6 player for Calgary.

If Chicago lets him go for a 2nd and you can sign him following the trade then it's a no brainer.
He was a bit of a basket case early on in his career but I believe that he's grown out of his antics as time went on.

It would be nice to snag him and separate him and Kadri on different lines. Both play a similar agitating game that most teams hate. He and Bennett are very similar.

I just can't square Domi going for that much. His value feels Vanek-y at this point.

He is around a 50 point player, plays centre and wing and plays physical and is only 27.
I understand your trepidation concerning the player but I would pay a 2nd on the premise that he were to sign a 3-4 year deal here at a fair cap hit.

Hey I was the one who suggested him in the first place! I just think of last year when he was also on pace for 50 points over a full season and Columbus couldn't get a single pick for him despite paying Florida to retain half his salary. I feel like GMs perceive him in a very certain way.

Last season, Jarnkrok had 26 points in 49 games with Seattle and was traded (with $1 million retained) for a 2nd, 3rd, and 7th.
Currently, Domi has 24 points in 35 games. I think the return definitely starts with a second rounder.

I completely forgot about his trade last year and you may very well be right for his perception.

Jarnkrok has a much better reputation in his own end, though. He's also previously been a key cog on a team that reached the Stanley Cup Final.

Last year he was making 5.3, this year 3.0 which makes him a more attractive trade target for more teams

But Carolina got him with double retention and they still didn't give up a thing! He was retained all the way down to $1.325 million and still fetched practically nothing. Both Columbus and Florida retained 50%.

Yea agreed but my point is that it opens the market up wider which increases the value
