Lol, Georgia has had three official recounts now and even did an audit of the signature matches, and Biden is still the winner by over 11,000 votes. Those GA officials could have rightfully told Trump to go f*** himself and just hung up the phone. I admire their restraint.

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”

That audio is insane, threatening those guys for doing their jobs and having a secure election. You always think there’s a rock bottom but there isn’t. Still 3 weeks to go.

Trump and a significant portion of the GOP are completely off the rails. I have a bad feeling that all of this insanity might result in some major violence taking place between now and Jan. 20th. I hope I'm wrong, but it certainly looks like things are headed in that direction.

I guess Raffensperger had enough of Trump’s crap after his tweet this morning. Smooth move Donny, you really showed him.

This audio is entirely consistent with Trump's mafia-like way of speaking and demanding loyalty via vague threats and promises, just like Comey and Cohen (and I'm sure others) have testified to. Just imagine what the audio of other calls he's made to foreign leaders and Republican Senators/Congressfolk sound like.
He is clearly going to put the pedal to the floor hoping for tangible actions to be taken on his behalf, starting with the Proud Boys et al. rallies set for DC on the 6th, and continuing on until Biden is ultimately sworn in. How bad it will get during that window is largely out of his hands, and dependent upon what his minions do and how their civilian opponents (and the police) deal with it. But he's out there again planting the seeds of a coup or civil war and, as much as I don't think either of those things will happen, the odds that someone gets killed in connection with all of this is pretty high.
And that's to say nothing of the continuing impact on US democracy, which is already looking pretty damned ragged.

Far, far more egregious than Watergate and Trump et al will suffer zero penance. Again. Just atrocious what has happened to reason and accountability.

Just had a quick look on the Fox news website, unsurprisingly no mention of this story on there at all.

It's there, but it's not on the main page. They currently have it buried in the politics section.

This is insane. How is Trump able to (attempt to) pull this crap with no consequences?
Is the call not an attempted coup?

The Dems in Georgia should hire vehicles with PA systems to slowly drive around Republican areas in Georgia blasting Trump’s comments.

Could you imagine if anyone else tried this? Obama, H. Clinton, Biden?
Trump is held to such an incredibly low standard.
And yet almost 75 million Americans want this. Even more when you consider that there are a lot of Trumpists under the legal voting age.

I'm not sure, because it sure seems like the sort of thing that should result in a leader being immediately imprisoned. And yes.

Are you sure that wouldn't help the Republicans?

It's already been mentioned during his 2016 campaign and throughout his first term, but the majority of Republicans don't care what he says or does. He's part of their team and that trumps everything. The election results and 74M+ votes support this.

There are no consequences because 50% of the current ruling party are supporting him in his efforts, and he knows that Congress won't hold him accountable for fear of backlash from the MAGA cult.
At this point the GOP looks like they might actually be on the verge of splitting into two separate parties, with the bats*** crazy Trump loyalists and sycophants on one side, and the old-school traditional Republicans on the other.
