Probably most out of our price range. Conny wants to reward team and has softened on getting someone outside of the target age range/contract, these are names out there.

Give me Laughton all day. Plays a playoff style game and apparently is an all world guy in the locker room. His teammates apparently LOVE him

Would like him too. Unfortunately, I think he could coat more than a team like the flames would or should want to spend on any rentals at this stage.

Yeah it would most likely cost a 1st. I’m not sure if the Flames are willing to trade a 1st right now unless they get a younger guy. I’d just love him as a Flame

I don't know why Chicago would do that, instead of just trading Hall for picks.
From the Flames perspective they would be good additions. Still not sure I'd want them giving up a pick as high as a 3rd for a rental this year though.
|
All depends on the market.
We couldn’t get a 3rd for Cammy the year before he left as a ufa.
Always players that expect to be moved at deadlines but don’t due to lack of market. Conny might be able to get something cheap if someone gets left at the altar.

Hall is on pace for about 40 points this season. Not good at all, but not anywhere close to Kuzmenko bad.
Hall at the deadline may actually be worth a pick.

John Gibson has the 2nd highest Goals Saved Above Expected per 60 minutes. Only after Thompson. Kind of surprising
I wonder if this increases his trade value.

Byram has been all over the trade boards.
If the flames could somehow swing Byram and Cozens, without giving up any of our new young "core", that would be amazing.
It would be expensive though..

The good pieces we have to trade allegedly won't waive for Buffalo. A 3 way might be the right angle here, but it seems we're more interested in slow walking to the trade deadline than working hard on that.

All of a sudden Laughton is 30 years old. My youth has ran away.

If anything, I'd target a guy like Nico Sturm with a mid to late round pick (4-6) to center our 4th line. At 29, he's a guy who could stick around for another 2-3 years on the cheap.
A big body that competes well, has decent hands, and is a monster in the face off circle.

That’s a good target. He also won a cup with Colorado.

this is a really nice pluck...if that was truly the cost then it needs to happen.

Young or older, if Conroy doesn't get Huska a right handed center, Huska might throat punch him.

It sure sucks that all our pending UFAs are either hurt, or playing like ass. Certainly doesn't look like we'll be adding to the draft pick pile at this years deadline.
Hopefully CC doesn't go into a draft pick deficit trying to dig up short term help for a team that is probably a coin flip to even make the playoffs, and probably less 1% to win the Cup.
Long term help is a different story though.

Pinto is a guy I'm really intrigued with - really stands out lately when watching Ottawa play.
Suited to play 2nd or 3rd line C. RH shot. Bigger body that skates well. Just happens to be represented by Lewis Gross who was Conroy's agent.
His production has started to pick up a bit though so maybe not as much of a "buy low" candidate now.
Sens need to go on another losing streak here...actually going to be really interesting to see what all of New York, Ottawa, Montreal, Columbus, and Boston do here. All of them pretty much have a .540 point percentage and all 5 teams battling for that final playoff spot in the East.
Might see another one of those Eastern conference arms races like a couple years ago.

Connie might have to suit up himself then.

Sportsnet reporting that the Avs may not be able to sign Rantanen longterm. He is apparently looking for something closer to Draisaitl dollars than MacKinnon dollars. He would be arguably the best player to reach UFA in a long long time if he actually makes it.
