Another day, another no doubt W for the Blue Jays who now occupy the second wild card spot!

Funny thing is that probably was a swing before and I was like now make them pay.

bullpen emerges semi-unscathed and off day tomorrow so that's huge. extras would have been a disaster regardless of result.

Biggio has quietly been a very effective and clutch player for the Jays over the last few weeks, both offensively AND defensively. This was a guy that I don't think any of us would have thought twice about if he was DFA'd earlier in the season. Quite the turnaround. Great to see.

Red Sox fans must've been losing their minds with all the stranded baserunners today.

It's nice to have that swiss army knife type of player. He can help in so many different ways on both sides of the ball. He's never going to be a star, but if he can keep this play up consistently he will be a vital "glue" guy for any team, hopefully with the Jays.

Makes up for the 3rd strike on Schneider that was WELL out of the zone both high and outside.

Hard to imagine what that would feel like as a fan...

Baseball is wack, rangers get swept and now all sudden jays are hosting home field for wild card.

Nah, only the first WC team gets home field. They'd have to pass Tampa Bay to have home games in the wild card round.

Apparently they're 8 for last their 71 with RISP. That's putrid.

Seattle also got swept this weekend. Now they're 1.5 back of the Jays. Strange times indeed.

Astros losing two to the Royals and Dodgers sweeping the Mariners is huge. Now this week starts with us taking on the Yankees while Astros get the Os, Rangers the Red Sox and Mariners the A’s.

With the Rangers and Mariners playing head to head 7 times an 8-4 record pretty much guarantees the Jays a playoff spot. Just focus and winning every series and they're in. Most frustrating season of my baseball fandom. But playoffs are still the playoffs.

Crazy stuff.

3 days ago things looked very bleak, all of a sudden the Jays hold the 2nd wild card spot.

Man, if only they could have squeaked out a win or two against the Rangers.

6 vs the Yanks and 6 vs the Rays

I'm scared

The Mariners and Rangers play each other 7 times - somebody is losing each one of those. The Mariners also have 3 with Houston.

If the Jays can go 7-5 the rest of the way...

SEA would have to go 9-4 AND
TEX would have to go 8-5

Considering they have 7 games together, that means they would have to go a combined 10-2 in their other games, in order to both finish ahead of the Jays (tied).

And that would mean that SEA would have probably swept HOU as well. meaning HOU would have to go 7-2 in their other games.

The Jays definitely control their own destiny.
