No one disagrees that he would regress to the norm just that you were not acknowledging his contributions to date at that point. No one ridiculed you. Cripes.
There is nothing impressive about predicting negative outcomes in sports, particularly baseball.
- Most prospects will bust
- Most teams won't make the playoffs
- The guy on a hot streak will regress.
We all know that. But someone has to be the guy to point it out I guess and then act like they were the lone voice on it.
Baseball is a sport built around negative outcome more than any other. If you choose to view the game through that lens - all you will see is negative.

I think with Sanchez or Happ pitching they could win a one gamer. The problem is that they have to burn one of those guys then instead of using them in game 1 of a series

Moving Travis to RF isn't a bad idea either IMO. Barney's glove is solid and he's not terrible at the plate either I suppose.

Yup, did both of those on purpose. I don't think there's a chance in hell either are on the team next year. And really, why should they? Both have good stretches but have been ridiculously inconsistent on the team - exactly what you don't need from a starter on a championship team. As for keeping Travis at 2nd base, I know some say he's young, but at this point in his career I don't think he'll develop into a better infielder. It's a combination of mental and physical ability that he's making errors on, and I really think they should cut their losses and plug him in the OF as I think they'd be wasting time developing something that he has no chance of reaching (being an average 2nd baseman defensively). He doesn't provide enough power to be a DH, so that leaves him as an OF.

OK, but the Jays just re-signed Smoak and traded for Upton both in the last two months.
You may think they need to be cut loose, but that doesn't seem very likely to me.
I'd be just fine being wrong on that though.

I think Upton is in the plans next season for sure and I'm fine with that.
Smoak likely is too - which sucks. But re-signing for sure.

But Zaun likes the signing of Smoak! And he knows baseball.

So a sweep by Seattle and the fork is in the air ready for the plunge into the lifeless Jays carcass. Seattle 8-2 coming in and fresh off a 7-3 thumping of the Astro's. Could they at least lose in an exciting manner or is it going to be more of the whiff at the plate brigade?

Seattle has also aligned their rotation to throw the best at the Jays. Gonna be a tough one.

Upton and Smoak will both be on the team next year. Upton was brought in as a replacement for Bautista.
The bolded is the key. Last year and this year they were putting pieces towards a championship team (or at least they should have been this year), as of this off season we are no longer adding pieces to an immediate championship run, we'll now be rebuilding or becoming a middle of the pack team, so you'll see the Upton's and Smoak's as actual starters.

Absolutely. It was obvious from the minute they brought Upton in what his purpose was. A cheap replacement for Bautista for next year.
If people don't think Smoak and Upton will be on this team next year, they are going to be very upset once April rolls around. I'd bet a lot of money they will both be starters. I could live with Upton, but Smoak makes me want to vomit.

If the Jays get swept, the season is done. If they only win one, their season will be hanging by a thread - even though they would probably still be a game or so up on the second wild card.
I'm a lot less excited about going to Safeco tomorrow and Wednesday than I was a month ago. But at least we have Happ and Sanchez on the hill for those games. Just need the damned offence to show up and @#$^ing do something.

It'll be a good time regardless. Tons of Jays fans, and Seattle is great for some pre-game drinking.
The Flatstick Pub in Pioneer Square is pretty neat for a pint before the game. If you like beer and feel like wondering, the Pine Box in Capitol Hill is pretty neat/weird. Used to be a funeral home.
If you haven't been to Seattle before, doing one of the Underground tours before the game would be neat (and a 5 minute walk from Safeco).

Oh, I always enjoy the games. As you are well aware, opportunities to see the team are rare and well spaced. It's just a bit different when the outcome actually matters. Still not used to that.

Dude. It is the best deal in town. Flat rate gets you unlimited access to all the games - and they have a TON.
