Flames have a scout at the Jets Flyers game. But with only 2 games on the NHL schedule might not mean anything.

SJ: Sorenson/Thornton/Lebanc is pretty darn good
LV: Lindberg/Eakin/Carpenter is meh
TB: Killorn/Cirelli/Miller is good
Jets: Perrault/Lowry/Tanev is meh

I think playoff Bennett and hopefully Neal with a fire under his ass would out-play all these lines, maybe other than Thornton but it's still a possibility there too.

Friedman on NHL network throwing a big speculation bomb by speculating a marquee player will be traded out of Philly (based on Fletcher's comments to the media today) and the name will be more of a surprise than Wayne Simmonds.

Couturier, Patrick, Konecny, Provorov, Gostisbehere would all be amazing pieces but definitely too expensive

Voracek has a huge AAV, I could see Philly wanting to drop the contract for that reason, but take a team like ours for instance, we'd have to clear out both Stone and Neal for it to fit short or long term. Five more years at 8.25M

I would trade multiple assets (dube, 1st 2019+2020) for couturier. 4.5 mil for four more years, former selke candidate. Would be a perfect fit with our core.
Cant see at all why the flyers would trade him.

I agree with that. And I agree it's not a thing I'd be doing if I were Philly. But maybe they just want to burn it all down.

Couturier would be a great addition but if I can take anyone from philly, its gotta be Gritty. I think he would literally eat the competition.

Yeah Couturier has turned into such a beast... His faceoff and possessions stats are ridiculous and his contract is reasonable and long. Gotta think he would cost a kings ransom but he's the kind of guy who would push the flames towards legitimate cup contenders. And as a 2a/2b centre with backlund if they could get him enough ice. I feel like he would instantly give the flames three good lines instead of 2 and possibly spark James Neal. They'd probably gut the flames meagre prospect depth in any deal.

Not sure its enough. Philly doesn't really need young d so those are out. Dube, 1sts... maybe have to include jankowski? Would suck to lose him but couturier would be quite the upgrade.
