The interview of him on TSN is pretty good. He slaps Rider fans around like the bitches they are.

worth nails it right on the head, we don't know the context in which those pics were taken (i.e. likely Henry and some friends just having some fun). As for the person who initially posted those pics on the internet, obviously I don't know their motivation behind it, but it's causing Henry some unneccessary grief, which is unfortunate.

Rider fans show once again how classless they are. On top of having the least successful team in the CFL, they have to resort to garbage like this. No wonder no star players want to play there. First throwing poop on the lawn of the kicker, and now this this.

If it was Durant the rider kiddies would be calling him a pimp. And yeah she is smoking hot.

I think some people are mixing this Burris picture thing up a bit.

Here's how I believe the events played out.

Burris pics are taken. Al Cameron said he received an email about it on June 7th. 3 days after Hank's 35th bday.

Quote:
The first email on the topic — subject line “Henry Burris” — arrived in my inbox on June 7, three days after the Calgary Stampeders quarterback celebrated his 35th birthday.
Here’s what it said (with typos and all): “Interested in a few drunken photo’s of him on his birthday just the other night, his shirt off wearing a womans bra, while standing with another girl in her bra, I do belive he’s married still to.”

Some of the dbag Rider fans try and make this about Burris being the new Tiger Woods, thru online posts and emailing media personalities. I am guessing on the last part. I am not sure where this story started. It's been around for a while. I totally understand stuff like the pic photoshopped with Lewis' face and Rider fans giving Burris a hard time about the pics. It's a rivalry. Not unlike if us Flames fans had pics like that of the Sedins. That is not to suggest I approve of the pics being released but a lot of that I blame on the media.

Even though this picture thing had been talked about at length on Riderfans.com the Cgy media decides to pursue the story and ask Burris about it. As a note, I don't frequent Riderfans but I noticed yesterday that they hadn't been allowing the pic to be posted. Something about legal worries. CP has done similar things IIRC.

Burris then says he's mad that the issue is brought up [by the media] right after a loss. And he's right. Why break this story 2 days after the 2nd of back to back loses, and an ugly loss at that.

On the Chevy and Nasty show they imply that some jagoff editor forced a reporter to pursue the story and that a reporter grudgingly brought the up with Burris. The Sun and the Herald both publish articles. Toronto Sun article publishes pic of incident in Ian Bubsy article.

Burris tells Cgy Sun:

Quote:
“It’s amazing how everybody is taking it to this point,” he said. “Through this, you find out who your true friends and family are. My teammates have been beside me. They understand people play pranks sometimes and that’s how it goes. This won’t cause any bump in the road for us. It will only fire us up. We know the people behind this. They are in Regina.”
In the TSN video they say that a person from Sask, presumably who was at the party and a friend of Burris', made the pictures public originally. Burris seemed to imply he knew who it was and hence the "you find out who your true friends and family are" comment comes from.

Then of course Cgy radio and sites like erupt with angry Stamps fans. Some of whom appear to want to embarrass themselves as bad as the segment of Rider fans they hate. I'm referring to a small segment. I think most level headed fans are indifferent about the story and, like me, don't like that Burris' family was brought into this. Personally I think it is all a non-issue. It was a playful picture and if other fans wanna make fun of Burris let them. Assuming they stay away from the family stuff. That's out of bounds.

Here's where I think people are misunderstanding Burris' coments. As I mentioned earlier Chevy and Nasty weren't happy with the media for bringing it up. Burris said:

Quote:
"My family, we're very annoyed about it because we knew about the situation from the beginning. It's amazing it came up after a loss, but I guess nobody likes a loser right?

"My bottom line is this, I'm not going to be here interviewing, glorifying somebody trying to mess up a good home. I love my family and that's the bottom line."
Then Burris said:

Quote:
It’s always the Riders involved, and that’s the disappointing part, that people will take what the fans of another team that, as we all know have something against me, and make them feel good about something,” he said. “But I’m not going to let it stand between me, my family and what we do.

I think precisely what Burris is saying here is: why are you media idiots giving credence to what a few morons online are saying about me and my wife? Stop wasting my time and keep the questions about football.

There are 3 groups to blame here. Guy or gal who originally released the photos, based on the quotes from Regina. The people online who questioned Burris' family. Make a funny sign at a game, don't question his loyalty to his wife. And the media for acting like this was a story. Hufnegel took the perfect approach, joke it off. The minute you give recognition to these clowns then they win. Plain and simple.

Vanstone with a good article in the Regina Leader-Post. Here's hoping Rider fans will take it to heart.

Quote:
But it still makes you wonder: Why would someone in Burris’s circle, who knows him well enough to attend his birthday party, choose to disseminate those photos and ultimately embarrass him? Burris must be asking serious questions about at least one of the people with whom has socialized.
It is irksome to think that someone would go to such ridiculous lengths to humiliate a fine man and his family. What is accomplished by this?
This is not a popular view, being that I reside in Saskatchewan, but it must be said that Burris is one of the finest people you will meet in sporting circles.

One can only hope that the right-thinking Riders fans, who predominate, carry the day. The Roughriders/Stampeders clash could easily determine first place in the West Division. Given the rivalry between the teams, and their proximity in the standings, why does there need to be a subplot?
Quote:
Instead of denigrating Burris, his detractors should emulate him by taking the high road.

What in the world are you talking about?
Its not like he was cheating on his wife or anything like that.
It was a prank/joke on his birthday.

All you Rider fans are trying to make it a bigger deal then it is.

Is there any question that Riders fans are the most classless sports fans in Canada? The Canucks are a close second but at least they had the class to chear on Iginla in the Olympics.

Cory Boyd is good to go this Saturday.

Speculation yesterday if Cleo Lemon was to practice today he would start. He didn't practice again today. Dalton Bell is now the starter and Cleo Lemon will not even dress for the game.

Yesterday Winnipeg was fined for the comments they made about the officiating against Montreal.

Paul LaPolice fined $1,000. Jovon Johnson, Obby Khan and Phillip Hunt fined as well for post-game comments about officials.

I know there is a rule against talking bad about officiating BUT I cannot blame the Bombers for speaking out. It was clearly a bad call and because of that call they lost the game.

Those Bombers might have some help paying those monetary slaps on the wrist, though. Not only have teammates chipped in to offset the costs, but more than a few Blue and Gold supporters have contacted the Free Press to lend their support, wondering if they can help lessen the financial blow.
"The last couple days we've talked about looking in the mirror at ourselves -- we are," LaPolice said at the Bomber offices Wednesday. "That's awesome by the fans... but I would say just put those funds to your (favourite) charity."
Quote:
Khan was a little more reserved when commenting on his own comments Wednesday.
"It's been a couple days now, so obviously things have cooled off," he said. "I didn't mean what I said. It was in the heat of the moment, we just played a game with a lot of emotion, and we put a lot of time and effort into that game. Whatever you do in life, whether it's football or work -- you put that much effort in and things don't go your way, you're going to be upset.
"Ten minutes after the game and the media is in my face -- I said some things I regret."
Quote:
LaPolice was dinged for his stating that "mistakes were made" and questioning the "inconsistencies" within the CFL officiating group on a post game radio segment. That's a no-no, as players and coaches were informed by the league earlier in the year that any use of those terms would be considered public criticism and subject to discipline.
That's fine, said LaPolice. He talked to the CFL director of officials Tom Higgins, ironed out the creases with regards to the rulings on the field, and took full responsibility for his conduct Wednesday. If anything, the coach was more annoyed that league ruling dragged so long into the week -- a pivotal stretch for the Bombers as they ready themselves for a key game with the B.C. Lions at Empire Stadium Saturday. With just six games left on the schedule, Winnipeg (3-9) needs a victory against B.C. (4-8) to climb back into the race for the final playoff spot.
"I really haven't thought too much about (the officials) since Sunday," LaPolice added. "We're just moving on to go play football."

Former South Florida Bulls QB star Matt Grothe is negotiating with Toronto. The deal is 1+1 deal.

EDIT: Sounds like a done deal. His dad says he is leaving Tuesday for Toronto.

Jason Jimenz to critics: Like it Lump it.

Quote:
"Why should I? Because public opinion or somebody in a suit says I should change? Because it's unbecoming of a football player? I would argue that those people who say I should change have either: (a) never played football or (b) are just caving to public pressure and public opinion."

Quote:
B.C. defensive back Korey Banks has suggested he and other Lions may seek to exact revenge during that game.

Jimenez said he is not taking the comments seriously.

"If you're going to threaten somebody, you don't make a threat publicly." he said.

"If you are going to threaten somebody, you do it through back channels, a text message, a BBM, an email, you know, something that can be erased, something that isn't publicized so the CFL can't scrutinize it."
