This.
The game has no staying power imo.
Like I said before, because they are offering nothing different from WoW, what would you rather do? Play the game where you have three level capped characters in raid gear or a new game with nil end game content or fun PvP?
We've lost another group of players who went back to WoW. My account is up in two weeks and it's as good as done. After I bail, I'll put money on the rest of my friends being no more than one more re-up behind (length depends on who it is).
This game has done nothing but offer you the opportunity to pay $15 a month for a dumbed down KotOR. The possibilities were endless and they opted for WoW. Terrible business decision. After Mass Effect, expect Bioware to be "merged" (RE: Killed) with another company.
Such a disappointing waste.

Today is the first day I could do my daily in the past 5 with PvP instead of box farming. Quite a few republics on.

The problem is that since everyone and their mother rolled imp, it's incredibly frustrating to go to Ilum as republic. Even when we get a good ops group going, before long word is out that we're there and 100 sith come in to roll us. Bioware needs to implement some kind of faction balance before world PvP will be viable

Which you can't do with out imbalancing the game. They just have to hope more and more new players roll republic or open faction transfers.

I would hate to rest the fate of a $100+ million development cost on hope.

100 million is actually a huge underestimate. But you are right and I doubt that is what they will do. They will likely imbalance the game, which will only alienate more people.
EA is just so terrible at customer service aspect of this business.

Well what should they do? If they are so terrible, obviously you have another idea.

They are terrible at customer service, and I'm saying this as someone who enjoys the game, mind you for me its pretty much a single player experience and I'm only lvl 37.

I haven't had any issues that have made me reach out to customer service, but to be honest, I'm still brand new to MMO, and because of that, I'm enjoying the crap out of the game.
I did score a hat trick in Hutt Ball last night and continued my streak of creative murdering as I beat the crap out of some bounty hunter last night then force shoved him and watched as he stood up, realized that he was on one of the random fire grills, probably swore and hit the jump button just as the Flames embraced him and took him to whatever hell that bounty hunters go to.
I ended up helping a guy do some of his individual missions on Voss because he was getting his butt kicked and he needed to level up, and I needed a distraction. After we got done, I logged off, when I logged back on later, there was an email from him and a couple of thousand dollars, which was nice.
I'm getting close to the end of the Sith Warrior story line, I'm going after a warlord so I can secure a pendant that will allow me to enter the Heart of Darkness, which I assume is the Sith council chamber. I still need to level up from 47 to 50, so I think there's one more planet that I need to go to.
On a side note, as punishment for failing on some scavaging missions, my two female crew members are no longer allowed to wear clothes on the ship. I'm holding onto those until they do a better job out there.

Free faction transfers. That's all they need to do.

Why would that work though?
Being Republic apparently sucks at times (from this thread), does being Imperial suck more? People went Imperial for a reason, which I totally get, and I doubt that reason will change for enough people to make free faction transfers the ultimate solution.
I can totally see it being a part of a big picture solution though, which would also need to include some type of bonus for Rebel players.

Include a bonus to play Republic and the balance swings the other way.

What it really comes down to is: Would you rather shoot rocks at somebody, or would you rather shoot lightning at them?

i really think that Bioware deliberately sabotaged the Republic side of things because they favored empire. i mean how else do you explain this?

so i've had to pretty much give up on my level 50 Trooper, as there just isn't enough republic players to do anything. go to Ilum, get excited to see 20 republic players in an op, but as soon as word gets out on the empire side that we're there a horde of sith roll in and completely wipe us. people get frustrated, can't complete their dailies, and Ilum returns to being a barren wasteland. warzones are no better, with the republic win ratio around 1/10. and i can't find anyone to group with for flashpoints since the guild i was in withered away
so i resigned myself to rerolling empire since that seems to be the way Bioware intended the game to be played. i have a Marauder named McStab on Daragon Trail, and i'm actually enjoying the game again now that there's stuff to do (and actual people to do it with, amazing how big the population difference is)

Oh god yes.
EA is having to come to terms with the fact that if this game is a WoW killer, hell even a legitimate WoW competitor, it isn't going to happen while the game is bugged to all hell and the content is minimal. They have to knock off the delusions of grandeur and kill half the servers.

and people are going to realize it's going to take time for that content to come along, and those bugs to get crushed.
WoW wasn't built in a day. SWTOR has had a good launch, and EA/Bioware now have to keep the ball rolling.

Buying Bioware with this game on the way out was a hail mary by a company, EA, that is hemorrhaging money while its chief competitor is rolling it.
EA expected this game to be Rome built in a day and are a company known to cut and run when things don't go as planned right away.
It's had a good launch, but it hasn't had "THE" launch. You know EA expected every single one of those servers to be totally full within a month. Instead down 300,000 subs in a month while WoW only lost 100,000, and with an expac on the horizon (an incredibly stupid expac, but you know it'll draw people back) you know it'll trend up again sooner than later.
I have said it before and I'll say it again now. SW:toR had a window and an opportunity and did nothing with it. Baffling choice after baffling choice and they're gonna end up paying for it.
