Yeah no worries, just wanted to clear it up. Your posts reminds me of Blackberry users 5 years ago. "Who needs all these apps! I got BBM and my e-mail, this is professional!"

Yes in the MMF universe, that's exactly what you would be. Talk about arrogance, which flies in the face of what actually is happening in the real world.

No, not what I was saying at all. Don't be so over-the-top defensive. When you see iPhone users switch over the Android they usually do some because they're finding iOS too boring and simple now. And the only thing when switching they really ask about is iMessage, similar to years ago moving to the iPhone from Blackberry and wondering about BBM.

I've been in the market for a new iMac for about a year now, so I'm quite excited that they refreshed them this morning. Looks like a Haswell chip, AC wifi, speed bump, and storage improvements. http://www.macworld.com/article/2049...ac-update.html

Very nice machines.

I've been out of the loop - any rumors on launch timing for Haswell MacBook Pros? I'm about to install my 3rd logic board in my retina MacBook Pro and I need to hawk this lemon before my warranty is up...

The retina macbook pro hasn't been updated in 224 days, while the regular macbook pro hasn't been updated in 471 days. Last year there was an October event where they refreshed almost everything, so we're due for another one of those. So far the iPhones and the iMacs have been updated right on schedule this year, so hopefully the iPads and laptops will follow suit.

Before I call apple and sit on hold for an eon I figure I'd ask here first. I recently purchased a Samsung plasma smart tv and apple tv along with it. I have no desire to get a cable package so that's why I went with apple tv. I went to purchase nhl game centre and it comes up and says sorry no purchases are available for your geographic location. I've made sure my apple tv is set to Canada other than that I'm lost. I am far from being a techy guy so I am assuming it's probably a simple fix but yeah other than porn and social media I'm lost. I just want some friggin hockey.

Any ideas otherwise I'll try to call or email (or whatever I've never needed help with an apple product before) when I get home from work.

I believe you can buy Game Centre online and then just use your login to access the app. Perhaps Apple won't sell it until the season begins?

Apparently they're to be revealed at an event on October 15. My MacBook Air could use replacing so I'm definitely keeping an eye on those.

Neat article on the woman who voiced Siri. I am eager to see what horrible things and cruel memes the Android fan club will come up with simply because this woman took a voice over job for a software company. I am sure they will not disappoint with neck beardy goodness.

There are rumours of a 12" or 13" iPad under development as a notebook alternative. Not sure what I think of this, seems too big for something that can't fully replace a notebook.

This would shock me.

Apple will reportedly unveil two new iPads, a redesigned fifth-generation iPad and the second generation of its smaller iPad mini, at an event on October 22nd.

According to AllThingsD, Apple will cut the size and weight of its full-sized iPad, which has typically sported a 9.7-inch display, upgrading its processor to the new A7 chip. Along with a new camera, the iPad 5 may also sport a Touch ID sensor. This jibes with what we’ve seen in recent leaked images.
Something simple I'd love to see is different options for the colours. Not even the bright options of the iPhone 5c but the Black, white or (shudder) gold options. I think that silvery look is getting a little dated and I've personally always favored Apple's black designs.

Don't know if this should go here but does anyone know how to make my Macbook Pro stay connected to wifi even halfway consistently?

It's been a long standing problem but it hasn't really bothered me till now. If I'm using it for an hour I'll have to turn the Wifi off then on again to get the connection back. Beyond frustrating at this point.
