It seriously has to be one of the cooler things I've seen and I am debating whether I'll buy this over a new TV lol.

I don't know how much that word clock costs, looks like a lot and the clock looks pretty refined, but I got one of these from Australia a few years back:
http://dougswordclock.com/
They're hand made and there are also instructions on the site on how you can build our own.

Watch made for the blind. You tell time by 'touch and see'.
This was a Kickstarter campaign a few months back. Company website
I just got mine, it is pretty gosh-darn awesome!

Does that first "L", directly after "it" ever illuminate? I am trying to imagine what it could possibly spell out.

Ya, i was set on buying one and realized the costs..... perhaps if it was bigger and could be more of a focal point.
The watch itself looks to be over $1000

Don't think so. Just a filler letter so the row and column lengths match. There's a couple on my watch that don't illuminate either. My watch has a different letter/word pattern than the clock.
Never said they were cheap but they are an absolute conversation starter and pretty trick.

I bought these just before new years. I really like both.

I saw a few filler letters on that clock, they really change the look. You put it beside the cheaper one, which has no filler, and it looks that much more impressive. The random letters really make the whole face look a lot more random, kind of like a word find puzzle. The kit version has no mystism about it, as all the words are just right there in your face.
They are very cool, I probably balk at the price just because it doesn't fit my decor at all. My Breitling wasn't cheap either, but I had didn't have a problem with that.

this is my pretty much everyday watch... I've decided I like nato straps so I'm looking for a nice clean face I can put a nato strap on. I've actually already ordered the strap
I'm a bit of a watch geek, so I have a bunch that I only wear now and again...

Since your watch is pretty much an exact knockoff/homage of the Rolex Submariner...just put a black NATO strap on that for the Military Submariner look.

This is not my arm but this is possibly the watch I am going to wear for the next 10 years of my life seeing as how the last time I wore one, I used it on and off 10 years as well.
I was walking through Wal-Mart and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw that Casio was manufacturing their old watches again. This is the A158W which is exactly the same watch I wore from Grade 2 to Grade 12 (strap changes of course) until the glass was smashed. It's sleek. It's feather light. It fits perfectly. I grew up wearing it. It feels like an extension of my body. I have tried expensive watches, replica watches, mechanical watches, all sorts of fancy digital and LED fashion watches and I don't want to put any of them on any more. Every day I just reach for this and never get bored of looking at it because it brings back good memories.
I bought a backup as well the last time I saw it in Wal-Mart for $20 in Dec. Timex has a retro Indiglo line as well but those watches always broke on me as a kid which is why I always went back to the Casio. The only thing I would change is swapping the green LED in the corner (yes it's lit by a corner LED that doesn't even light up the whole screen like the good ol' days) with a yellow one as I seem to recall my childhood watch having a yellow light.

I might have to go get one of those - I used to have something very similar, if not exactly the same, when I was younger. My wife would probably not be very impressed. She got me one of these for my birthday

I used to have something similar and used the chrono function to see how fast my reaction time is for pressing start/stop. 0.17s was my best time.
***Remember to take the battery out of your backup watch so it doesn't accidentally leak and ruin all the watch's innards!

What an awesome game! The best I can do is 0.09s!
Also in a boardroom meeting, my manager (who is 10 years older than I am) was like: "What? Do you see that? That's awesome. Is that my watch from high school???"
