Unless that city is Edmonton... or Toronto... or Vancouver... or Winnipeg... Especially Edmonton. Then it's just funny.

Yeah, pretty gutted, at least if you get smoked you can just kinda say, oh well it wasn’t meant to be this year. But they really snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, again. As someone on previous said we just aren’t a clutch team - always seem to choke in the biggest high pressure moments. And if they don’t choke, they have terrible luck or a bad call. It’s always something.

lol of course a missed FG is how Buffalo loses this.
I'm so ####ing tired of the Chiefs already. I'm happy for Sylvanfan, but apart from that? So tired. Just go away.

So here are the dots on the one Romo talked about how open Diggs was underneath. And while Diggs is definitely open underneath, Shakir is also very open for the touchdown. It was the right throw to make, but as the dots show Chris Jones blows this play up to the point I'm not even sure Josh could have made the pass to Diggs and even if he does Bolton is probably gonna tackle Diggs for a gain short of the first down.

In the end the Bills were actually lucky to even be in the game for a trying kick or go ahead TD. Chiefs outgained them by three yards a play (7.7 to 4.7) and got first downs on almost half of their non-kneeldown plays (21 in 43 plays). The "lateral" and the Bills fumble luck are pretty much why it was close.

I thought it was a pretty successful season when you consider they lost their two most important defensive players to season ending injuries at the 1/4 mark of the season. That's pretty crippling for any team with Super Bowl aspirations. The Chiefs simply fielded the better defense yesterday.

Take away 4 kneel downs for -6 yards and it was 8.53 yards per play. The Chiefs seemed to have more 20 yard plays yesterday than they did in all of December.
Buffalo executed a game plan for them to win by running 78 plays and having the ball for almost 38 minutes. But they missed making plays in clutch time. I don't think they should fire McDermott because he had a decent plan and the defensive injuries were pretty significant.

Hoping both games are good next week. 3/4 this week after the 1-fer last week.
Give me Det/KC because 8 years ago (or even 28 years ago), there's no way anyone would have believed such a matchup of two iconic logos could ever meet in a Super Bowl, current Chiefs success notwithstanding.

Feels like both games are a coin flip at this point.
The Chiefs should be able to game plan better for a running QB after playing Allen. Jackson doesn't have the same arm talent.

Yeah but he has a better defense behind him. It won't be nearly as easy to move the ball for the Chiefs. I think it's going to be a Ravens vs 49ers Super Bowl.

Yeah -- I mean I guess I can't complain too much, when they were 6-6 even a playoff spot was looking questionable, so to come away division champions and win a playoff game it's not like the season overall was bad. It's just a heartbreaking way to go out against a team I really wanted to see them beat.

The weather looks good next weekend in San Francisco and if that's the case the Lions have a snowballs chance in hell of beating the Niners. The AFC game should be close though.

I wouldn't look past the Lions.
They have a really good offensive line, and they have one of the most explosive players in the backfield in Gibbs. Goff is playing well.
Niners got shredded by the Packers run game, and they really should have lost that game if the Packers didn't make dumb mistakes.
Could be a high scoring game.

Agreed, Lions have a great opportunity here, they definitely have a chance. I'm picturing a close game where ultimately the Niners experience in these moments will win out, I can see the lights of the moment getting a bit too bright for the Lions in the dying minutes. But we'll see..

Dont like the Lions travelling cross country to play outdoors against the 49ers. I think they get walloped

Maybe, too early to say. Brady was 7/10 in Superbowls. Mahomes 2/3. Since Mahomes joined the NFL, they are tied with two SBs, and Brady won the head-to-head. 10 is a sick number, and in the salary cap era.

Mahomes winning 3 rings before the age of 30 would be extremely impressive.
No one can say for sure what will happen over the next 10-12 years. But I think he could be a threat to Brady's GOAT status if he keeps this up and stays healthy.

Mahomes GOAT problem, at least as far as being seen unanimously that way, is that he will probably need eight SB wins because Brady will have the H2H tiebreaker. So while I don't think he needs that record to be #1, most people probably will believe that. At this point he's no worse than top 10 all-time, and another ring this year locks him into the top five.

I wonder how many new permanent NFL fans the league is gonna get from Taylormania? Or will this just be a fad?
