Honestly? You hate to see it. A guy who saw a sports psychologist this off-season, I feel for him being stapled to the end of the bench. It’s not like he doesn’t care. It’s just the worst case scenario for player and team and I don’t have the slightest clue how it gets better from here.

He looked so alone, there was even a huge gap between him and the player next to him as he gave up and was just leaning on the glass beside him for the rest of the third. He looked completely left out.

It’s probably not going to get better. Think the bandaid has to get ripped off.

Yeah, I’d be a full on hater if he was checked out and phoning it in but the current situation is just unpleasant all around

I’m glad that Huska paid attention to Alan Walsh’s tweet saying the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.

How? He won’t waive his NMC to ride buses in the AHL

Maybe Zary can solve Huberdeau’s problems. He is closest to Bennett that we got

There’s no way this can go on for 8 years. Find someone who wants him. Eat some of his salary and ship him out.
There’s no way he’s going to want to stay here.

I think he is trying too hard. He came in this year looking for the game to be fun again but once he started to struggle it just freight trained and now he feels too much pressure. I feel bad for the guy.

Well, hopefully this is a case of "it has to get worse before it gets better". I have nothing bad to say about Huberdeau's effort out there. That's why it is hard to see. I don't think anybody should be happy about this situation, or somehow enjoying his 'comeuppance'. You have to feel sorry for him. However, he has not been good. He is quickly becoming the worst player on the team right now.
Hopefully things start turning around for him this season. Tonight was probably rock-bottom - at least i really hope it was.

Him looking down was because he had an iPad or whatever. His body language interpretation is way overblown

Who’d even want him at 8.5 right now. It’d have to be for Nurse lol

Situation doesn’t read like this is the type of player that responds to being benched either. Some guys are mentally stronger than others and he just appears to be extremely fragile.
I appreciate that buttons are being pressed, but I’m not sure this is the right one.

Playing candy crush? Studying on how to become a coach or player agent?
I tried to find video of that but missed it and can't rewind the streams.

I think what's telling is that I've not seen anybody actually hating on the guy. Everybody just feels bad for him whereas other players with big contracts and underperform get a load of hate from the fans.
Huberdeau still gets the benefit of the doubt but I think he's internally not dealing with the pressure of the big contract and inability to execute on the ice well.

Yeah this is going backwards in a hurry. It's such a bummer to see unfold

Necessary pining but it was tough to see those clips of a broken guy. Alone on an island. Hope he responds positively
