What I know is that Hartley is in Latvia. He's so good that no one has offered him a job.
...this version of the Flames is behind a lot as well, and they don’t come back. So I mean, which would you Prefer?

At the same time though...why is anyone talking about Hartley? He coached a rubbish system, and he got rubbish results 3 of the 4 years he was here.

Gully isn’t a very good coach, I don’t think anyone is arguing he’s a good coach because there’s literally zero evidence that shows he is a good coach. That said, let’s not go crazy and say Hartley is better.

Hartley was bad in his own special, unique way.

Gulutzan is also bad, in all his own special and unique ways.

No matter what you think about the quality of the goals against, I feel a bit sad for Rittich, as he is right now failing on his big opportunity. As his draft pedigree is non-existent he will have a hard time getting any second chances, especially with the other goalies the flames are bringing up, so this is pretty much the worst possible outcome for Rittichs NHL career.

LOL, who broke him then?

And no, I am not saying that Hartley is the answer here.

Hard to be worse than Hamonic tonight, unprotected first for him is a disaster.

For who?

I don’t disagree, but I’m honestly interested..

Darryl? Who else out there?

I’m at a loss, I really am. There isn’t one thing you can point and say “that’s it”, you don’t hear rumours about the room, the Chucky issue was dealt with...

They just seem like they are weak, as a group. It’s weird.

Hartley wasn't a good coach...not saying GG is either

People keep saying how much talent we have but IDK the forward lines don't look too impressive to me right now

Hartley didn't have "better Brodie" - he utilized Brodie better.

As for Iginla, we had missed the playoffs three straight seasons and missed training camp for the handful of games that Hartley had him.

As for Hudler and Glencross, that is some serious reaching. Every terrible team has guys like that.

And Wideman not being anchor might have had something to do with Hartley's system ya know.

Tkachuk also had pretty poor forechecking on the 4th goal. Backlund was the only one doing anything in the offensive zone.

The sheer stupidity of our players is sadly why this team is failing. All season long we’ve seen bad untimely penalties that have cost us big in games. Yesterday Bennett takes a mindless offensive zone penalty and we give up a goal and we couldn’t recover.

Tonight, Tkachuk takes a dumb needless penalty and the Avs in turn score and turn the whole game around. Then we get a PP with a chance to get back in it and Dougie takes another penalty that negates our PP and we get scored on shortly after.

I just can’t understand the sheer stupidity of this team at times. The refs are not our friends and we continually so undisciplined. We don’t have a good enough PK to get us out of trouble. Just a young team lacking brains all season long.

Interesting to bring up.

The Flames need to go 11-5-1 to get to 96 points if tonight is a loss.

Say the Flames drop the next 2/3 games. Do you release GG, bring in a coach (Sutter/ect) who has 10+ games to implement his system and get the team ready for next season.

We have two good forward lines. And then just two bad lines. Which is even worse with Ferland out and Bennett on the top line.

And tonight the first line is off so you have 3 bad lines and the Backlund line.

Yeah, both goalies are letting in dumb goals.

At least Jon is a brick wall otherwise. But he's got the night off cause of a B2B.

Tkachuk made a mistake, but he draws so many more penalties than he takes he easily gets a pass from me. Yeah, that one was dumb, but the fallout is not on him and he needs to play with edge to be great. 99.6% of the time he’s smart... I’ll gladly suffer the 0.4% of fallout.

Hell Tkachuck and Smith are the two huge reasons why I havent just given up in disgust already.

That's my issue, way more than defending GG. I happen to think a lot of these comments about GG are in large part from people still sore that Hartley was fired. Just like a bunch of Treliving criticism was really about Feaster.

You lose your MVP....

The top guys and leaders have to step it up and be elite.

That hasn’t happened.
