Because twitter's API specifications would require the forum server to cache the tweets to display to all the users, rather than getting the tweet info from twitter's servers every time someone views a forum page.

So rather than easily inserting a bit of code saying "when you see the [tweet] code replace it with this chunk of HTML" like I can with YouTube videos or NHL videos, instead I'd have to program a more complex plugin that would get the information once, store it in the database, and then get it from the database for every so many times it's supposed to be displayed.

Can't add code that when saving would retrieve the tweet and add it to the message just like if the user had typed or copy/pasted it in the body of their post?

So now we're on to hurricane truthers are we? Or is InfoWars stealing that many hits from Drudge because of Trump's conspiracy core and they have to compete somehow?

Why is this called The 2016 US American Election Thread instead of '2016 US Election Thread' or '2016 American Election Thread'? I've been coming here all the time lately and I just noticed the nuance in the name. It's a beautiful thread though. Best ever. Huge.

Evangelicals speaking out against Trump.

https://www.change.org/p/donald-trum...g-donald-trump

Quote:
Donald Trump's campaign is the most recent and extreme version of a history of racialized politics that has been pursued and about which white evangelicals, in particular, have been silent. The silence in previous times has set the environment for what we now see.

For this reason, we cannot ignore this bigotry, set it aside, just focus on other issues, or forget the things Mr. Trump has consistently said and done. No matter what other issues we also care about, we have to make it publicly clear that Mr. Trump’s racial and religious bigotry and treatment of women is morally unacceptable to us as evangelical Christians, as we attempt to model Jesus’ command to “love your neighbors as yourself.”

Whether we support Mr. Trump’s political opponent is not the question here. Hillary Clinton is both supported and distrusted by a variety of Christian voters. We, undersigned evangelicals, simply will not tolerate the racial, religious, and gender bigotry that Donald Trump has consistently and deliberately fueled, no matter how else we choose to vote or not to vote.

You don't know where US Americans comes from? Hmmmm. And the thing about this video is it's almost a prophecy of the rise of Trump, since the answer is dumb, full of ####, and the 20% who can't find America on a map are probably the core of Trump supporters.

I never agree with David Frum, but this article actually makes some pretty insightful observations I think:

Young Hillary: Defender Of Bunnies.

Quote: Klein interviewed a grammar school classmate of Hillary's, who told "the story of being ordered by Hillary to guard a warren of baby rabbits, and not give any of them away to neighborhood boys. When he did, [the classmate] recalled, 'Hillary hauled off and punched me in the nose.'" Ed Klein concludes, "She’s been using people as punching bags ever since."

Hmm the 40 million dollar settlement or the fact that they were coerced into confessing by police.... And DNA evidence.... but \_(ツ)_/¯

Why?

Maggie Haberman@maggieNYT
Trump campaign is canceling hundreds of thousands of dollars in advertising in Fla, NC, OH, possibly other states, per two buying sources.

So he can instead spend that money to host campaign events in hotels he owns is my bet.

The law and order candidate once again admitting he doesn't actually care about the law. I'm back to wondering if he isn't tanking his own campaign. If nothing else he's straight up telling people his administration will not let the law get in the way of summary justice. How very Saudi Arabia of him.

He said in the debate he wasn't advertising in order to save money.

This campaign will be a yuge windfall for the Donald.

Russia's government lodged a formal complaint last month with the United Nations over a top U.N. official's condemnations of Donald Trump and some European politicians, diplomats told The Associated Press, an intervention that underscores the unusual links between the Republican presidential nominee and the Kremlin.

There is no evidence Trump sought Russia's assistance, or was even aware of the criticism by Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein, the U.N. high commissioner for human rights.

Vitaly Churkin, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, issued a verbal "demarche" to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in a private meeting on Sept. 13, according to three diplomats familiar with the conversation. Churkin angrily protested a pair of speeches by Zeid that denounced "demagogues" and specifically targeted Trump and several populist leaders in Europe, even likening their tactics to Islamic State propaganda.
Quote:
Demarches, or formal, diplomatic communications, are everyday occurrences. At the United Nations, they're generally used to question broader foreign policy questions and sometimes used to complain. But they rarely center on specific individuals, let alone involve a Russian complaint about how the U.N. is treating an American politician.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, respects women like Trump.

Some pretty lewd stuff in there.

Quote:
Donald Trump bragged in vulgar terms about kissing, groping and trying to have sex with women during a 2005 conversation caught on a hot microphone — saying that “when you’re a star, they let you do it” — according to a video obtained by The Washington Post.
Quote:
In that audio, Trump discusses a failed attempt to seduce a woman, whose full name is not given in the video.

“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump is heard saying. It was unclear when the events he was describing took place. The tape was recorded several months after he married his third wife, Melania.

“Whoa,” another voice said.

“I did try and f--- her. She was married,” Trump says.

Trump continues: “And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’”

“I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump says. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony [edit] and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”

Billy Bush was always a massive dbag so hopefully he suffers big time off this (the worst for him was not in KFF's quotes). As for Trump, well, he might have an issue or two with Melania now considering this occurred after they were married. Wonder what his evangelical supporters think...
