With the instigator penalty appeal, is it like a reviewable in game situation where they have to definitively see that he didn't deserve the instigator, or do they review the whole series of events from the start and decide what's what?

Watching the post game videos and reading the quotes it just shows what class the Canucks players have with Bieksa dishing out his usual d-bag one liners about dumb-dumbs and the Ferkland comment (he probably cannot read?) and then you watch the Flames post game stuff with no finger pointing, blaming, no low-blow shots at any Canucks players.

Yeah Bieksa, the guy who get 1 punched down in a flames game a few years ago.... That was sweet. He is the toughest guy in the league when he is pushing smaller skill guys after the whistle

At first I was saying to myself, I'll just be happy if we make playoffs.
Then when we got there, I was like man I wanna beat the Canucks.
Then I told myself I'd be happy to split the first 2 in Van. Which we did.
But holy cow am I every pissed off with how that brawl went down and the ensuing penalty calls. So dirty on behalf ot he Canucks. So piss-poor on behalf of the refs. CBC is a disaster and I've been saying that since day 1.
I just don't even know what to say - I'm so pissed off. Normally I am pretty good at just letting things go and calming down. But man that one irked me.

I applaud Hartley for putting those guys on the ice. The Flames will not be intimidated.

If the legend of Lack continues and he wins his 2nd playoff game, Hughson is going to lobby for instant HOF status....

Yes you are right.Like Chris Simon, and Kassian,Ferland has already proven he can take really stupid selfish penalties. Which over time will only cost his team and gain a reputation with the NHL referees.

I have this mental image of the Kane / Cooke fight, with Ferland playing the role of Evander Kane.

I can see that. Ferland is still young and we are still rebuilding... Let him make his miskates early and learn from them

I really don't think any of the Canucks really want to fight Ferland, Bollig or Engelland. Bieksa cannot equal any of those guys and he is the best they have. A guy like Ferland can't try too hard to make it happen or he will take penalties. He has to let it come to him, let some bumping and face washing bring it on and then finish business.
lol at Ferland Kassian comparison. Not even close. Kassian is garbage and if he sees light of day in this series, Ferland will take out the trash!

I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but what the hell was the official doing? standing there watching while 2 canucks gang up on one flame? Bush league officiating all the way around last night. and Hughson... ugh!
Rant over.

Technically the refs did what they were suppose to. The linesmen break up the fights the refs assess the penalties, expect the penalties they assessed made no sense so while they did part of their job they also didn't do their job.

They gave Simon a penalty for looking sideways at someone that year, so it seems that Bollig might be this year's Simon. He got 10 minutes for stepping on the ice!
I love that Hartley put him out there right after that big kerfuffle. Such an obvious statement, no matter what he says.

To be honest that's a flattering comparison. Kassian scored at a 65 point/82 game pace in the AHL and has scored at a 15-20 goal 30-35 ES point pace over the last couple of years with limited minutes.
I get why people don't like him and he seems about as bright as a sack of hammers, but Kassian is still a pretty decent player.

If I'm not mistaken, and I'm not trolling just stating what I perceive are the facts, Bollig was already given a game misconduct, was supposed to go to the dressing room and Hartley tried to put him out there anyway, fully aware he had been ejected.
Did I misread that flow of events?
