For Formulate & Enoch Root--agree with your comments. Good asset management but sucks to see a guy I want to succeed go to my most hated rival. I want the Canucks to shrivel up, not have hope. Ideally, Sven signs elsewhere or is traded to the East...

I think the Flames knew exactly what they were doing with Hull, St.Louis fair enough.
The proper comparison here is that he might Savard us. Flames moved on a player with talent but also an attitude problem. The attitude problems in these examples are not the same, but attitude none the less. For me though, I'm much more comfortable with how the Flames handled this latest situation because one, have no issues with trusting this management was going about things properly, didn't have the same confidence in management back in the Savard days. Also Savard certainly had a lot more fight than Sven. Savard is the kind of guy who would respond to adversity by trying to prove you wrong them getting I your face, Sven seemed to respond by cowering in a shell and looking for a way out.

Ha ha ha. A little over the top don't you think given the careers those players had? Not worried the slightest that he will even amount to half of either of those players.

What's with the attachment to Sven and the "want to see him succeed". The guy is literally nothing more than a footnote now in Flames history, unless you know the guy (possible) how can any Flames can be attached to the point of wanting to see him succeed now that his success doesn't equal Flames success?
Not saying people need to route against the guy, but want to see him succeed. It's not like he was the captain for over a decade.

Yeah I would rather see Glencross succeed on another team or even Jokinen. Players that played hard for the organization. Sven ultimately didn't want to be a Flame or simply didn't think he was good enough to crack the Flames lineup. If he was half as good as he thinks he is he would have been roaring to go in September and ready to force Hartley's hand next fall. I really don't think Hartley was a fan of Sven but I do believe if Sven came into camp and played really well that Hartley would play him as he's shown that if you play hard and are productive you will play for him.

Believe it or not, some people do not get satisfaction seeing other people fail.

Maybe you can tell everyone what a true fan is too!
And what is your opinion on whether or not it is okay to root for a team other than the one where you live?

I think you misread his post because he didn't mention anything about true fans. He just doesn't get the attachment some fans have to the player.

No I was giving you the benefit of the doubt because your response came off as kind of rude. You know you don't have to be condescending all the time to other posters right?

ok I see what you meant now.
I think CSW was being condescending. I don't get when posters want to tell other posters what or how to think. What is it to him or her whether some of us would still root for Baertschi?

Should probably be a lesson to many to apply a certain degree of skepticism to any prospect no matter how highly touted.
The amount of emotional investment into a prospect who had really shown very little beyond a bad attitude is an indication of how clouded fan judgement can be.

He was pouty, he was not living up to expectations, and I couldn't spell his name, so good riddance. Hope he ends up Erixoned.

In this post I was not being condescending. I'm literally struggling to understand how so many average Flames fans have such an attachment at this point to Sven. It's not for me to say whether it's right it's right or wrong, button literally am having trouble seeing what it is. He's been traded now, and I won't look it up, but what played about 50 games as a Flame over 3 years?
You telling me that's a usual occurrence for Flames fans to be attached to that type of player? I'd say it warrants a question because it unusual.
