I'll add that it was a total waste of an evening. To top it off, travelling the #1 hwy between 160th Street in Surrey and the Brunette turnoff took me, no joke, 1.75 hours.
Stupid of me, I never travel that direction at night but I should have remembered they mess around with #1 every evening.

Yeah, ton of construction there. I feel bad for you that you had to drive all that way to see that brutal game. I only live a few blocks away haha.
Man that was an ugly game. In the second they seemed like they could come back but that 3rd goal by the Marlies did them in. I'm glad others have noticed Kadri diving and embellishing because it drove me nuts all night! Also there was a slow call on the crosscheck by Carson that I didn't particularly like. If it's a penalty then call it, but the ref sure took his time. Irving didn't play well at all. The first and second goals were ones that he needed to stop.
Ah well....hopefully they can tie up the series in game 4.

I have a couple of questions (don't follow the Heat closely).
1) Is Wilson really one of the Heat's weakest defensemen? I recall a lot of praise for him from Ward in a recent article.
2) Does Danny Taylor have an NHL contract?

1. He meant weakest as in not physically strong. He's the Heats best defensman IMO.
2. No he doesn't have an NHL contract.

I think he's commenting on Wilson's body strength, not his talent otherwise I can't comment.
Taylor has an AHL contract which may be changed.
edit too slow

1) No, Wilson is the Heat's best defenseman bar none. In last night's case, I meant he's weak in the sense that he's not strong on the puck. He can get taken off the puck too easy for my liking. So him being able to keep the puck away from forwards stems from his speed and stick-work, unlike a guy like, say Breen, who can keep a forward off the puck using his size and physicality.
2) No, Taylor is on a SPC (Special Players' Contract). From what I understand, a SPC contract is a full-year contract strictly for the AHL, whereas a PTO or an ATO are temporary AHL contracts.
EDIT - Way too slow.

PTOs and ATOs have 10-game maximums, I believe, but can get renewed.
SPC (Standard Player Contract) are for the full year.
"We've got some guys who have contributed to this season that haven't been in this series yet". I'm interested to see who those guys might be. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say Estoclet is in tonight.
Interesting that Taylor gets the start. I understand Ward's reasoning as well. Taylor was tired from travel so he put Irving in, but now Taylor is well rested. I guess we'll see in a few hours how he does.
