I'll probably watch the Rose Bowl and maybe the Fiesta. The big bowls don't interest me much after all of this today.

I think LSU/Bama will be a good game, I'd expect a 24-17 type of result. Plenty of big plays defensively, but enough offense to keep it interesting for the people who didn't appreciate the first matchup.
I would have rather seen LSU/OKST, but as long as my team is in the game, I really can't complain.

The proposal stemmed from when Auburn went undefeated and was snubbed in 2004. I'm sure Silve was confident that the SEC would have at least one representative for the foreseeable future, so it wasn't exactly a selfless act.

Pretty happy with MSU to the Outback Bowl. A lot of Spartan fans are upset about Michigan going to a BCS bowl over us, but outside of the title game or conference winner slots I don't see much difference. The money is split by the conference and I'd say Georgia is a better team than Va Tech, who didn't beat a team that finished ranked and got smacked twice by the only one that did.

As a Michigan fan I'm happy getting a BCS game, however as a football fan, it's really dissapointing that we get to go and face VTech only because our fans travel better then Boise St and Kansas State. Those two teams got robbed.
Probably didn't get robbed as bad as OK St. Destroying OK and the schedule they played should have put them in that title game IMO. I liked what their coach said after the game. Just wanted to see how these SEC defenses stood up against a great offense.
As far as Michigan going to BCS over MSU, well I know they beat us, we have to live with this ranking system and a 3 loss team will never be put into a BCS game.
I really hate this system. Glad to see Michigan back to a 10 win team.

Thanks.
I was just looking at the list of bowl games, and while I'm not happy with the championship game, there should be some decent match ups. I can't believe how bad Boise St is getting screwed though. Top ten team and they get to play unranked AZ St? Brutal.

Boise only has themselves to blame, you aren't guaranteed a BCS bowl as the top ranked non-AQ team unless you win your conference and they didn't do that.

Not saying a BCS bowl, but a top 10 ranked team should have gotten a better opponent then AZ St. I would have liked to see them up against a top tier team from one of the big conferences. See how they match up. AZ St is not a bad team by any stretch of the imagination, but South Carolina, Georgia, Mich St, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma, any one like that I would have preferred to see.

Well that comes down to the conference tie ins, the mountain west ties into the Las Vegas Bowl and the Pointsetta Bowl (as well as some other lesser bowls). Mountain West teams simply don't move the needle enough to garner a better bowl tie in.

No, they have the ridiculous Sugar Bowl execs taking a brutal Virginia Tech team over them. Va Tech's best win was against Virginia and the only top 25 team they played was Clemson and they got blown out twice.

Exactly why they're looking at moving to the Big East...so long as the Big East remains an AQ

I don't disagree, but you're conveniently forgetting that there's more to an at large berth than your record.

They'd still have to win their conference. Even if the Mountain West was an AQ they'd still be on the outside looking in. I'm sorry, but if you don't win the mountain west you don't have grounds to cry about missing out.

A 1-loss non-conference winner in an AQ has a hell of a better shot than one not in and AQ.
I agree nonetheless, you gotta win your conference to stamp out any doubt.

Well as a Notre Dame fan when I saw the rumour/now fact that FSU was the bowl opponent I was intrigued. A good matchup and I'm sure ND's legions of fans will enjoy visiting sunny Florida.
I don't much care at the college level about who is the ultimate best. Playoffs is for the pro's. I like the more haphazard sked with the bowl games at the end to celebrate the season. Just seems like a whole lot more fun. The bowl games are fun in that often a matchup in a game of two middling ranked teams produces a great game. The Won Ton Soup Bowl can be as interesting as the Big One. Plus there is a game on like every night for like a couple of weeks almost. Gotta love that.

Those "great offenses" did well last year in the Title game vs the SEC, and in 09 vs Texas, and that record setting OU offense looked amazing in 08. How about that great oregon offense vs the SEC defense this year?
