You need a reality check on what is beautiful and what is normal. Ill agree that lots of times people think certain celebs are hot just because they are in the lime light, but Scarlett is drop dead sexy. You dont get named Maxim's hottest due to luck or anything.
Anyone that thinks she is average is probably single and never talked to a girl.

I tend to agree with the sentiment behind this. I do find her very attractive, but there is nothing about her that makes her superhumanly hot apart. She's got access to top celebrity make-up artists, stylists, products, etc. In a role such as Terry Zwigoff's excellent film Ghost World where her outcast character uses very little make-up you can see that while still pretty she wouldn't be out of place at Market Mall.

Thing is, lots of women are extremely hot. We're thinking this the wrong way around, it's not Scarlett that's commonplace, it's beauty. Then when our personal preferences for looks come into play, it's "well I personally know women that are much better looking, she's nothing special" as if that invalidates the attraction other guys with different tastes feel.

Scarlett, at age 26, has classic beauty and style, and an old soul. She has a beautiful Marilyn Monroe-esque Hollywood presence and she is truly captivating and absolutely gorgeous. She always seems to handle herself with grace and she is the epitome of sexy.
Having said that, Ryan Reynolds is totally hot (although he's been in some really stupid films). I wouldn't kick Ryan out of bed for eating blueberries.. even on my fine, white, 1500 thread count Egyptian cotton. (He can bring crackers too).
