Holly just seems annoying to me now. I dont know why. 1st go around it was funny watching her and Michael. Now she just seems like an idiot and her and Michael just become TOO much on screen.
I hope they dont end up together, i cant imagine a lot of viewers cheering for that relationship.
I'm not sure how this version of Holly sounds like an idiot compared to the last one. She seems very in control of what she wants in her life and a little more grown up. Her and Carrell have such amazing chemistry, and now with a break from AJ, I think we will see a much more likeable Holly very much like S4
I'm almost afraid to post on this thread after an episode, because it seems like 75% of the posts are just people putting down the show. I think this has been a huge bounce back season for the show with a ton of great episodes. It's not S2-S3 funny and it never will be, but it's still without question one of the best comedies on tv.
I use to be a huge Will Ferell fan before he blew up and started doing a ton of awful moves. I think the Office could be a perfect show for him though, that caters to his type of comedy.

The Office made a huge comeback this year, way better than the previous 2 seasons.
Gervais's cameo was brilliant. Better written than the rest of the episode. It's also foreshadowed that he'll replace Carrell. Which I'm having second thoughts about. Gervais's comedy has always been so biting and uncompromising. The US Office, while good, is anything but nowadays. Especially this latest episode which was as mainstream and non-offensive as Modern Family or the like.
If they let him take over the show and purge half the characters, then I'm game. Otherwise I see some conflicts. How do entirely lame characters like Jim and Pam fit into a Gervais run show? I'd like to see them get rid of Jim and Pam and Ryan and Kelly. Concentrate on Andy and Erin, the new boss, Dwight and perhaps a new guy to be the reasonable foil.

As you can see, I'm completely ridiculous.
I don't think Gervais will take over. He already has his own tv show on HBO.
While i agree Gervais won't take over the show, it won't be because of the show that is an old Podcast show being edited down and animated. I'm sure The Ricky Gervais show takes up almost none of Gervais' time.
I don't see Gervais doing it. Gervais knows that the American way of dragging something out far longer than it is viable is like telling a joke that's too long, too often until it's stale and irritating.
He knew exactly when to cut his version of the Office short at only 14 episodes and move on. Extras was also a short series. The US Office has dragged it onto 140 episodes with characters who are just insufferably unbelievable. I just see actors reading from bad scripts acting out lame comedy in the US Office. I just can't buy into the show after all this. The UK Office actually felt like a real mockumentary and like they were real and genuine miserable people...not actors acting out cardboard caricatures.

The UK version is much better than the US version in that regard. If the US version had ended with Season 3 it would have been comparable.
While I'm not as down on the Office as some of you, I hope they just call it quits after this season. At this point a lot of the people who watch it have just become attached to the characters of the years, so give us a happy ending and we can move on with Community and 30 Rock.

It seems like any chance of talking about the season or past episodes is limited to a few posts, while again and again others just chime in with hate for the office and reasons why they don't watch it anymore.
It also needs to be mentioned the number of writers that have left the Office from when it was at it's best, and how much it helped their career, not to mention Greg Daniels and Mike Schur stepping away from the show almost completley to focus on Parks and Rec.
Nobody can argue that the Office has declined from what it was in it's earlier seasons, and as much as I enjoyed the UK one and it had the luxury of not being in the American television world, the US version has still surpassed it on many levels.

The first few episodes of season 7 left a lot to be desired, and I figured the series was done like dinner. Started watching again just before Christmas and was pleasantly surprised. It really seems to have turned a corner and the newer episodes are much funnier than anything they have done in the past few seasons. I hope they can finish strong.

Something to look forward to for the second half of the season.
