I had to get a medical for our French marriage license and since the forms were in French we needed a bilingual Dr. We ended up with a female. She quite professionally gave me the turn your head and cough exam from under the sheet.
The funniest thing was she later took my blood pressure and said perfectly deadpan "Your pressure is a little high, but we just did the testicular exam so that could be the reason." One of the funniest things a Dr. has ever said to me.
By now, you get the message, it's no big deal, Drs have seen all sizes and types.
I'll also add the prostate exam sounds much scarier than it ends up being. I wouldn't want one every week, but it's much less than what you've built it up to in your head...same with the big snip.

I thought that they can check your prostate with a blood test though? I think I'd rather have that.
You can get a PSA (prostate specific antigen) test. IIRC, this is not as sensitive in detecting cancer as PSA rises with both benign and cancerous prostates.
A digital rectal exam (nothing digital about it; it's a finger) is quite quick but I'm not sure about the efficacy of the screen.
I think PSA is a standard test once you reach a certain age for screening and it is important to establish a baseline and monitor it over the years.

Well when I went to get my prostate exam the doctor told me to drop my underwear and lean over the exam table. then he put his left hand on my left shoulder. No wait he put his right hand on my right shoulder.
You know, thinking back I think he had both hands on my shoulders.
I've been following up with my doctor for several weeks for my test results and he won't call me back.
I feel so used.
