Think about this issue in relation to the seal hunt debate in Canada before you point fingers at anyone or yourself.

That said, I am ethnically Chinese and I vehemently despise a lot of the practices and cultural attitudes of mainland China as rude and barbaric, so much so that I never want to visit there. That's a purely personal prejudice because I am an animal lover.

I thought this topic couldn't get any worse, and it did.

Only thing it needs now is a spurt of blood from the Internet to spray your face everytime you open the thread.

Is Hoz known for racist remarks? It's an honest question, I've never noticed it before.

False. Abortion was invented by nobody really, since ancient times women would just mix up concoctions of poisonous herbs to terminate their pregnancies. Abortion is by no means a new or western concept.

B) That abortion only exists in the west.

False. Bringing this back to China, there were 13 million abortions in China in 2009. Culturally, they are still having major problems with sex-selection abortion and the one child policy.

If aborting fetus that are girls or killing/throwing away baby girls after birth is not a major human rights violation then I don't know what is.
You totally missed my point but I think that you are so confused, you might even be on my side!

But do you feel that you are a member of a subspecies? Cultural practices are one thing, race is something else. There is nothing genetically deficient about Chinese.

I'm sure Morrissey or whatever his name is didn't really MEAN that they were genetically inferior to other races - just that their lack of animal and human rights make them seem like they are.

It's obvious you're an intelligent fellow Peter - but you come across as the guy at the bar in Good Will Hunting - you know the one that tries to intellectually beat down Ben Affleck until Matt Damon 'steps in' - you're trying too hard.

It's funny, but I'm not actually trying that hard.

You aren't very familiar with the animal rights movement are you? Just because Morrissey makes a statement about Chinese animal rights abuses doesn't mean that animal rights activists aren't trying to end abuses all over the world.

His arguement makes no logical sense. IIRC, a subspecies is a specialization of a species. We could argue that EVERY ethnicity is a subspecies (IE - British, French, Russian). Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

You brought up abortion as "westerners kill millions without batting an eyelashed" so that's what I based my points on cause it's not a western thing nor are westerners worse than the Chinese are.

So abortion had nothing to do with this animal rights subspecies issue. That was my point.

No, it's pretty high level stuff. I just don't think you are a very serious person. Seriously, I don't attack you for some of the ridiculous thinking-lite stuff you post, what's your deal with me?

Where-as, your response was a weird mix of "abortion has always existed" and "the Chinese do it worse." Both points completely missed my own.

You're stating they we as westerners shouldn't judge others cause we "kill millions without batting an eyelash", I'm saying that this is not true, we don't kill millions and they're worse. We should judge them.

Unless this wasn't your point at all, then you'll have to rephrase it.

Judging someone else, especially in the context of xenophobia, is a really easy way to avoid looking at your own ugly realities. I don't care about the Chinese. I care about my own country and community. I'd rather deal with our problems first than moralistically standing on a high horse.

Can't post image, it's the "d-bags enjoying the smell of their own farts" gag from South Park.
